    Mississauga Parkside Village: Avia 1 & 2 | ?m | 50s | Amacon | Turner Fleischer

@drum118 I believe vietbo1 was asking about the 40 storey tower on page 11 of the site plan. What townhomes are you referring to? The title of this thread makes no mention of the 40 storey tower. Is block 11 no longer going to have the 40 storey tower as per the site plan?

Is there any indication as to how many floors this structure will be?

Sheridan College (MCC, 4s, Rounthwaite Dick & Hadley Architects) COMPLETE

Is this funding definitive, as in Sheridan should get the money regardless of who takes power in the coming election or is it contingent on the Liberals being re-elected? If it's the latter, then I think it's good that the funding announcement came so soon.

Here's the follow up to that. Sheridan expands its campus

Hotel and Convention Centre (MCC, Living Arts Centre site)

I don't think anyone is really sure. My understanding is that the land beside it -- I assume you mean the empty lot to the West of Sheridan College -- is for future phases of Sheridan expansion. While the empty lot behind LAC is not owned by the city. There is a parking lot to the East of LAC...

Hotel and Convention Centre (MCC, Living Arts Centre site)

It would indeed be a waste, one hopes the city can maybe purchase the land needed to have convention centre located in MCC without having to raise LAC. My personal feeling is that the land beside Community Common just behind LAC, would be the best site, if it is large enough to accommodate the...

Mississauga Celebration Square Redevelopment (CS&P Architects) COMPLETE

Looking at these latest pictures I get the feeling I'm peering into someone's living room. The openness of the square really belies the cozy, intimate feel. As usual Jasonzed, great pics. I follow the Mississauga Development thread over at SSC and look forward to your regular updates on some of...

Round of applause for Dperador This has now been confirmed, seems you were the first to accurately call this. That would be too easy, but let's just be satisfied that it's now been confirmed.

Sheridan College (MCC, 4s, Rounthwaite Dick & Hadley Architects) COMPLETE

It's good to know I'm not the only one who feels this hotel/convention centre thing is badly planned. With all the development that's currently going on at MCC, any plan for a hotel/convention centre better happen soon.

Sheridan College (MCC, 4s, Rounthwaite Dick & Hadley Architects) COMPLETE

See I also wondered about the possible redevelopment of LAC if hotel/convention centre was built on the site, but ruled it out as LAC is less than 15 years old. Then there was this bit "Direct indoor access/connection with the Living Arts Centre" from the Hotel Convention Centre Fact Sheet. I...

Sheridan College (MCC, 4s, Rounthwaite Dick & Hadley Architects) COMPLETE

Saw posting of this earlier and had a few questions. Would this site be larger enough for a hotel and convention centre? How large could the convention possibly be if located on this site? I'm assuming the site of any hotel and convention centre would be located on the empty parcel of land...

I do concur. The mechanical vents can clearly be seen, but there also seems to be a window located in the area that was circled in my previous post. Of course one would hope for a closer look further confirm this.

I think his basis for that might have something to do with the area circled in this photo.

Mississauga Celebration Square Redevelopment (CS&P Architects) COMPLETE

Great pics as always Jasonzed. Between celebration square and community common park, I've noticed a real penchant for steel columns. This is especially the case with the stage area at celebration square. This is my opinion but I would have liked it better if things didn't feel so heavy, it's...
