Lower brant street an lakeshore are perfect places for development. Half the building have no historical significance. Theres also already a ton of development in that area.
I agree that the way things were happening was in favour of the developer industry but that doesn't mean downtown...
I personally like the building and I think I has really good potential if the city would sell it.
Having a cafe or restaurant there with a big patio that uses the "regular" sidewalk would be great.
Add an awning, use the green roof to grow some veg for the menu options.
Would fit perfectly...
Maybe there is a chance for some free standing tables with chairs.
Similar to what is under the tree canopy at Berczy. Might just not be out yet or not until next spring?
Haven't seen any plans for the space.
Maybe a little too harsh?
There is a path way 3 metres to the left!
Put some plantings and then people will use the proper path.
I'm all for desire lines turning into paths but not when it's gonna end with way too much paving in a park.
These people are not professional drivers. Like look around for one second and watch how cement truck drivers drive. They are fing hooligans driving around 40-60 thousand pounds acting like they are on highways on every single city street
Someone's life would have been saved if the people running this city did something for once. It's absolutely pathetic and every single councilor and the mayor should be ashamed of themselves.
Wider sidewalks an bikes lanes would have given an 18 year old a real-life to live...
Looks pretty good.
Any chance of speed humps/raised pedestrian crossings at the streets?
Find it weird to see cars parked blocking straight access between the parks
Route 1 in Burlington is the best bus service in the city just unfortunately doesn't stop at the GO station. Its 10-15 min frequency depending on the time of day an I expect that to improve as plains is developed more and more.
It does stop on the street at Burlington GO(2 min walk) and its...
Wow that is extremely close to those houses.
And the sidewalk is pathetic.
This is the third development along Jarvis that has had zero regard to pedestrian safety. I called the city about the other two and nothing came of it.
I moved out of the city a few months ago but someone who is...
Hopefully they can take advantage of the years that Yonge will be closed for the redo and do some work at the intersection.
maybe we can also get an integrated sidewalk and streetscape design that mirrors the stuff on Yonge.
Also hoping the land use for MCgill on the east side of church is changed. All those house are pretty rough. Lived in the basement of one 4 years ago and it flooded 4 times!
Happy to see this parking lot gone soon but liked the last version better.
Colonnades are a nice new addition though!
Church is gonna be looking mighty fine and dense in 10 years!
