    Ah, so that's what JdV stands for. I think I heard some years ago they were no longer independent (although couldn't remember who bought them). I stayed at a Joie de Vivre hotel in SF over a decade ago, when they were still independent - it was great, kind of affordable luxury boutique hotel.

    This is happening too many times in Toronto. Or, even more often, leaving a commercial building without tenants (not even attempting to lease it) and letting it rot for years. The building at the NW corner of Church and Wellesley has been vacant since at least 2015.
