    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

And yet Montreal has Berri-UQAM station. LA (!) has Westwood/UCLA station.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

There's nothing wrong with Light Rapid Cycles. Comets may be a little aged!

There's life - at least about a year ago. But I can't say more; and I wouldn't be aware of what was happening since.

200 metres the norm? That's near double the distance at Cedarvale. And surely it's relatively short at Eglinton, Mount Dennis, and Kennedy Don Valley to the bus terminal is only about 100 metres. Caledonia should be miniscule transfering from the subway station to the GO station which is almost...

For some reason I hadn't realized that - I should pay more attention while waiting for the bus/streetcar. Why not just install ticket machines (that take coins and bills) at the entrances; the collector can still assist those that have difficult with the machines (which I've seen elsewhere).

Really? I said changed every time. And I provided a clear picture of the one of the old entrance. Surely you didn't actually think I was talking about signage that needs changing. June 2025? It's been there for over 2 years, and the white "Cedarvale" on the glass for over 3 years! July 2022...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

It still says says Eglinton West. The image date is June 2025. The sign has not been changed. Which sign has been changed? I only see a single 2025 post with two pictures -...

I see no information in that thread (https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threads/toronto-eglinton-line-5-cedarvale-station-m-1s-metrolinx-norr.19747) saying that the outside signage has been changed. There's only one post since May 2004, and it doesn't show the original entrance. That also doesn't...

Have they? I don't think they've changed many (any?) of the interior signs yet.

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I doubt the train in the distance was there at that point. It's not like there would have been cars in that lane. It's pretty normal to turn into the lane next to cars. And difficult to see the paint markings in the rain. I could see someone who didn't drive there regularly making this mistake...

That shouldn't take long to clear. I'm not sure why there isn't a health application of red paint here - on the westbound tracks, from the dashed turning line to round where the concrete drops down. (looking east at Warden) It's been like this for years - I don't think cars getting stuck...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Yes, I suppose that bit is. Looks like only 300 metres from eastern end of the western portal, to Weston; not much longer than a subway station box. I think there's a big difference between that and a 25-km tunnel designed for 6 lanes of traffic and two rail tracks!

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

Surely similar, as the only city in Quebec to get new service is Trois Rivieres, only a bit bigger than Peterborough. Even Trois-Rivieres is only a 30-km drive to the current VIA track - though there's not enough demand for a stop there. I'd think the difference in coverage is more to do with...

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

There's less need for an express train in Vancouver as the airport is so much closer to downtown. About 14 km instead of 24 km for Pearson and 22 km for Heathrow. Trudeau is about 16 km. Once they rebuild the station at Pearson, I don't know why we can't have both - like London.

Which part of this (ECWE) project is TBM and which part is mined? I thought the vast majority was TBM.

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

Seems to me that Ontario and Canada are funding all the recent subway expansion in Toronto. Though constitutionally it's outside of federal responsibility.

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Line 1 has had most of the slow zones. Line 2 currently has none between Runnymede and Bay (or heck, Royal York and Warden). If you go back to the historical travel time from a couple of decades ago from Bay to Runnymede (7.2 km) it's 14 minutes. Significantly faster.

    SmartTrack (Proposed)

If it's now only a UP station, is it Smartrack anymore?

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Presumably there is future-proofing here. I'd think that once 6 (which turns into 7) is a full expressway all the way into Kitchener, that traffic will increase. And lots of developable land along both the 6 and 7 corridors.

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

I'd guess that's likely out of date. There was an extensive article about Pearson's 10-year expansion program starting on page B1 of last Saturday's Star. The contract for the LIFT planning, design and construction contract was awarded in the summer. So seems unlikely there'll be digging...
