GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Very true, I suppose they were probably referring to the transition from the USRC to the other subs the coordination for which would have to go through servers to connect the broader network from the locally dispatched USRC. In the least it's worded poorly, has nothing to do with some wireless...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

"...Abecassis said. GO and Via Rail trains need to connect to CN’s servers to navigate safely in and out of Union Station." This part is pure and utter BS. In CTC and the USRC interlocking which operates under the same pretense, trains are able to move from one block through to another strictly...

Back in the day the 'ol "Mom... there's a train in our living room" was simply par for the course for life next to a rail line 🥴

She is one curvy lady... a little bit thicc on the side thou, but I suppose that's how we boys like 'em these days 😏

Weird, it shows 8 on mine... but only because Google suddenly doesn't think you can walk on the sidewalk next to bus lane 🙄

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I can see how that makes sense on a freight considering how long they can be and how slow they usually transverse over an HBD, but not really for a GO or VIA which will take 20 seconds or less to go over a box. The engineer is preparing to or making his brake application for the station that's...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

. There's 3 signals between Aldershot and Burlington, though the first one is right at Aldershot so it's quickly passed and isn't even a controlled one on all tracks. So really there's just two signals before Burlington. But you don't just drop signals to red/stop, that's not how signaling...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Indeed this is a fairly complicated scenario, for starters there's two different rail authorities. There's the RTC who's job is to direct the movement of all trains on a subdivision(s), meaning their focus is not just GO trains. And there's MX Rail Operations who gives operational instructions...

A real shame they didn’t build it over the tracks... 😮‍💨 Though all kidding aside having a little podium or two extending jutting outward could have made for a neat little feature.

It's modern day steel plank over the tracks that we'll use to force bank CEO's off of should they cause another financial crisis. 😼

That part of the Guelph sub is still dispatched by RailTerm. Presumably whenever that contract ends and MX takes over the dispatching they'll switch the radio channels over.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I know, thats why I said "most lines"(I.e. Lakeshore, Kitchener, Barrie, Stouffville) but not all. In terms of timing, again the exact train schedule isn't known until after the game ends. Those extra trains exist solely for those events and to deal with the surge crowds they bring, therefore...

    VIA Rail

Yeah but I'm pretty sure anyone would be angry if they were told they had to move across the country to Edmonton if they wanted to continue their career.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

They timing it purposefully like that. The trains are in there ahead of time but they wait until the game is finished before they announce the schedule for them. There's also way more service now than before on most lines so there's fewer gaps to fill in.

Bruce Power: New Nuclear Generation Capacity

I actually agree with you in that I hate how western society is so completely focused on growth and expansion at all costs. I personally don't think population decline and economic stagnation(re: Japan one of the best places to live on Earth) is a bad thing. But 3 billion, a natural decline of...

Who said we're even trying to? Shanghai has a population of over 26 million, Shenzhen 17+ Toronto has less than 3. It'd be embarrassing for Shanghai and Shenzhen to only be at Toronto's level skyscraper-wise, but good for them that they actually punch their weight now. Still wouldn't want to...

So there's spandrel cladding on the two narrow sides of the tower portion of single one of three buildings in the complex and suddenly the project is a failure? Jeez what a bunch of babies some of you are. You don't get exactly what you want and you start crying like a petulant child Meanwhile...
