General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

False, false aaand false. And if walking is safer than biking, why are there actually more pedestrian injuries/fatalities involving cars?

I don't think so, but the curbs are already pretty low and there are sections that have bollards (such as near Lower Spadina) except more widely spaced. I'm not sure what the bridge in the photo has that's better than the setup on QQ.

I think that actually might be a Fiat 1100.

Oh, they're making another adaptation of that? My guess was Murdoch Mysteries.

Anyone know how Deco's US holdings are doing these days?

    Bloor Annex

I would say more similar to the neighbourhoods to the south of it, to the point that parts of Harbord Village are sometimes referred to as the South Annex. North of the Annex lies Dupont and the tracks, and most things north of that are either more modest than the Annex or swankier.

    SmartTrack (Proposed)

That depends on the meaning of 'Smart Track' on any given day.

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

Well, yeah ... but the bigger picture is that the city appears to be making projects like this a priority.

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

I passed a film shoot the other day on Beverley near Baldwin. I guess the setting was the 19th or early 20th century, because the crew had built a wooden sidewalk and spread dirt in the curb lane to simulate the streetscape of the period.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Probably a speech impediment. Stephanie Ford as mayor ... eeesh. Oh, and of course, Menzies being a prick as usual.

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

It's really about perspective, but not in an honest way: your idea costs way too much; my version of the same thing costs less, based on no details at all, therefore the price is right, AND it'll be done quicker, etc. Even if this is funded (mostly) by some combination of developer money and...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

It's like Doug actually wants people to sue his ass off ... because he and Rob are way, way shadier than any allegation he's hinted at about other councillors and journalists until now.

Will new Loblaws on College kill Kensington Market?

I'm curious what supermarkets disappeared with the coming of the Loblaws at Christie & Dupont. There was a smaller Loblaws at Dupont & Huron that became an LCBO, there's a Sobeys near Dupont & Ossington that may be more recent ...

SAL is having a fit over the availability and placement of the book at Chapters/Indigo stores, and also Ben McNally, where the launch party is supposed to take place: 'Why can't my friends find it? Why isn't it more prominent in the window? Why is it on the shelf when all the lib left books...

Will new Loblaws on College kill Kensington Market?

Unless Loblaws really goes for the same kinds of things you can get in the market itself - specialty meats and cheeses, bulk coffee/tea/nuts/spices, Latin American groceries, etc. - I don't think Kensington will really suffer, except perhaps Zimmerman's.

It's still not really clear where a cyclist turning from the bike lane onto York should wait: https://goo.gl/maps/Mw9bHy5btwP2

When I'm biking on the MGT and I have a green, I still have to look out for pedestrians who step out without looking.

Doug wants an apology from the media? Does he not remember some of the things he's said about the media?

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I was biking there this morning. When you get to York and you want to head north, it's not clear where you should be waiting, if you don't want to block the MGT, the lane that runs in front of the Westin or the pedestrian crossing.
