Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Which section and time? I use it around 6:30pm near the Yonge street section and it’s just as full as I see on street view. I know it does scale linearly but it could help

    TTC: Streetcar Network

I wonder is the complexity of the new cars the reason their not being repaired, or the fact all the stuff lives on the floor instead of the roof like the old ones?

    Streetcar Tracks on Adelaide

The estimated total cost for the bus lane is $240,000. The city's transportation staff says it costs roughly $78,000 to install the bus lane, plus $162,000 in estimated revenue loss from removing street parking. And that's the just the cost for ~5 smallish downtown blocks.

    Streetcar Tracks on Adelaide

There is a large cost and it's not super often a car ends up on one.

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Honestly at rush hour it's full even though it's paid. Also even for short trips standing on the go feels a lot worse than on the subway. The service is busy enough to run 15 mins on weekends, and even if it made financial sense to make it free they can barely crew the current rush hour...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Emailed the ttc the old notice was out of date for the cherry beach diversion and someone or them fixed it by ripping it off 😂

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

I don’t think it’s fair to call it a worse outcome, even if it doesn’t cut time off my trip it’s nice to move more people, also whenever we have construction or closure etc having more slack helps. The 401 lost 1 lane! And my commute is 20 mins longer (30 now to 50 mins)

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

As I often say everything is a balance! I think it was a good idea in this case but normally shutdowns aren't as disruptive or if they are it isn't for very long. There was a huge cost in terms of losing parking revenue, as well as the price to paint/create the lanes. Also even in Japan which...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

AFAIK the TTC (or anyone) got zero revenue from Bell and there was a multi thousand dollar install charge.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I think it's a bad move. The contract was for 20 years and we cut it short half way through, it might be "ok" for most people in the city but it sucks for tourists. The only reason it was slow is because they had issues with the authentication portal, I saw it changed providers many times.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

That's a bold claim IMO. Any proof? I believe they got rid of the cobblestone due to plowing issues as well as causing issues for bikes, if you're making a left turn you're forced onto a bump road Plus TBH we can't even maintain stone pavers on sidewalks

    Toronto Bike Share

Weird they didn't put things more west where there are bike paths

Tolls *might* have made sense when the only funding source was property tax, but now the MTO is taking over it there's a snowballs chance in hell of that. The pro transit Wynne liberals didn't approve tolls, I don't see them happening in our lifetime!

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Keep in mind almost everyone on the GO is coming from outside the city

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

This is an incredibly passive aggressive announcement from a media relations team!

    TTC: Major Operational Issues (Various)

Yeah, some routes were not 1 but 2 re-numberings out of date!

    TTC: Major Operational Issues (Various)

I'm not sure if this is a Major issue but the TTC didn't put up notices at some stops that routes will not serve them. I let them know, and when the suspension was extended they still didn't update the signs. The diversion has been extended to October but the sign has not been updated.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I don't appreciate you putting words in my mouth. My goal is grade separated bike lanes, anything else is substandard infrastructure.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Agreed, but everything is a balance. Otherwise, we would cut the speed limits in half

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

My concern is even places that are objectively better to cycle on get low use. I feel a lot of people here are ignoring reality, oh people in Amsterdam cycle in the winter but ignore the city’s own numbers saying usage is only 20%. If the city is in a such a budget crunch why not add lanes in...
