    Nobody pays getting on or off....they pay for the length of the trip....which can only be measured by knowing where it starts and ends.

    In a (partially) fare by distance system like GO, you need to tell the system where your trip started and ended so that the distance you travelled can be calculated.....no?

    I think it was casued by the original fare structue where a trip (for example) between Union and Weston was a different fare on UP than GO....so trips starting and stopping in the same place had different prices depending on what train you boarded....so the solution was two different tap...

    ^when the fare change happened I recall tweets and press releases saying the two different tap machines were temporary until the airport got integrated into the main system.....they seem to have given up on that notion

    Why do we have to wean people off of UP? It is well used but other than event times I don’t get the sense it is overcrowded.

    Your sentence structure makes it appear like you are saying only people who use the Brampton stop were in an uproar. I think the uproar was from people throughout Brampton whichever of the 3 stations they use ? But, yes, it seems they don’t proofread much before they put it out!
