Also during special track movements for maintenance. Here's a SkyTrain video showing single-tracking during a maintenance event. It shows car 312 short-turning (because of heavy loads to downtown TransLink runs a morning rush hour short-turn shuttle train to/from Commercial-Broadway Station)...

It just occurred to me that there aren't any/many large trees (in planters like TEC used to have) inside the concourse area.

Another factor is the number and length of the walk-through trains. Honolulu changed their mind and bought 4-car trains, not 2-car trains, without thinking of the operational flexibility of the 2-car trains. That's why TransLink in Vancouver stuck with 2-car trains and took a long time to buy...

"TMU Station" won't mean much to tourists. But I guess "CF TEC Station" would be worse 😄

Very cool shot in there with the Eaton Centre atrium ony half completed and the old Eaton's store still there on Queen St. I also didn't know that the Dundas tower also had a cenbtred "mouth".

The Vancouver downtown store has lots of escalators and elevators out of service. You can tell they are letting the building run down before redevelopment. 2 elevators are out of service, as is the main escalator from 2nd to 3rd floor (and maybe others). There's no escalators to/from the 6th...

Yeah, I think it would have to be a skinny tower as far away from the existing tower's sightlines as possible.

You can tell that the 2017 plans deferred to the height of the Canada Life Tower as remaining the prominent height element. I think you'd have a hard time building something that would overshadow it.

That's how Eaton's and Woodward's failed - they sold off their real estate assets and then had no colateral to borrow against.
