General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

The bill makes it clear that the entirety of the Bloor, Yonge and University bike lanes must be removed when it becomes law. There is no grey area where only part of them is removed.

Once act 212 passes the entirety of the bloor, university and yonge bike lanes must be removed as that is what's in the act states. nothing about bloor west is in the act. i expect the removals to start pretty quickly once it passes.

Speciality banning people from suing the province for injury or death caused by these changes is them admitting they know it will make the street more dangerous, but they don't care.

As I was saying on the last page, Yonge, Bloor and University are just the first to be removed, many more to follow. also here is the wording of this completely unbias "survey" Some people say the Richmond Street bike lanes cause too much traffic congestion and lead to too much of an increase...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Get ready to say goodbye to Richmond, Adelaide and the Danforth bike lanes as well. New: Campaign Research, Ford's preferred pollster, had a survey out over the weekend asking not just whether the Bloor, University and Yonge bike lanes should be ripped out, but also those on Richmond, Adelaide...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Does anyone know is simple renaming the status of the bike lanes to Dougie lanes for example would force the province to the process of amending the act to include Dougie lanes??. As long as they are not bike lanes how would the act effects them.

The province has always said they will be reviewing more bike lanes for possible removal as well, Bloor Yonge and university are just those for immediate removal with more to come later. I have no doubt more lanes will be removed as well.

Conservative goverment and voters only pretend to care about spending when it's to help others. When it's stuff they want they drop the mask of being financially responsible real quick.

Any estimation of what percent or length of the 25-27 cycle plan does not require a lane removed for traffic. I am going to assume any that will require a lane of traffic removed will not be built.

You forgot the part that the province also considering forcing the city to remove existing bike lanes on Yonge, Bloor, Avenue, etc.. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/bike-lanes-legislation-ontario-ford-sarkaria-1.7352228 On the upside removing a parking lane for a bike lanes seems...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

let hope the city can redo these bike lanes once the line is handed over to the city. in their current configuration they just encourage cars to park in them and seem like no protection to cyclist at all.

    Toronto Q Tower | 197.4m | 59s | Lifetime | Wallman Architects

Let's remember what the city rejected because it was too tall and shadows forcing the new shorter blander design

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

If the city really wanted to roll out the bike network quickly. they could easily expand the network rapidly by just using paint for now. and later upgrade these painted lanes over time which wouldn't go against the provincial rules. Painting all the approved bike lanes seems very doable without...
