From what I understand, these courtrooms are primarily for parking / HTA / provincial offences. These are generally not maximum security courtrooms. Criminal charges will continue to be heard at Old City Hall and other locations until the new court behind City Hall is completed.

    Toronto Tretti Condos | 47.85m | 16s | Collecdev | gh3

I don't get the love. There are a few interesting things about the build, but to me the black is monotonous and overbearing. It looks like an industrial complex.

    Toronto EQ Bank Tower | 105.18m | 23s | First Gulf | Sweeny &Co

This one took so long to get out of the ground. By contrast now, they are absolutely flying -- about a floor every 1.5 weeks.
  4. Dr. Snoot

    Toronto 65 King Street East | 82.9m | 18s | Carttera | WZMH

No joke, more than half of retail space on King Street East between Yonge and River is vacant. It looks terrible and provides no services to the neighbourood. Unfortunately, it seems a lot of landlords are “waiting for the right tenant” (a.k.a. charging too much rent for small business). While...

    Toronto Bauhaus Condos | 110.9m | 32s | Lamb Dev Corp | a—A

Shoring has started on this one. From a few days ago

    Toronto 372 Yonge | 278m | 85s | Yonge & Gerrard Partners | DIALOG

No. It means Great Eagle is a full party to the proceedings and can participate fully. However, it appears that no other group sought any kind of status before the OLT.

Toronto Maple House at Canary Landing | 89.61m | 26s | Dream | COBE Architects

Some more glass in on the tallest.

    Toronto Canary Commons | 42.06m | 12s | DundeeKilmer | a—A

You’re right it doesn’t say “permit issued”. Getting impatient!

Looks like the last zoning review was closed on July 5, so I think they have all their permits. I emailed Marcheleos to ask what’s going on, but haven’t heard from them. Fingers crossed that construction starts soon and might be done by winter!

    Toronto EQ Bank Tower | 105.18m | 23s | First Gulf | Sweeny &Co

Finally becoming quite visible above the heritage.
  11. Dr. Snoot

    Toronto The Ravine | 79.55m | 24s | Urban Capital | Rafael + Bigauskas

Urban Capital seems to be getting less ambitious over time, and I can tell you they’re an organizational disaster. I wouldn’t count on great projects from them going forward, sadly.
  12. Dr. Snoot

    Toronto 357 King West | 148.13m | 42s | Great Gulf | BDP Quadrangle

Even more annoying to me is the random, “static” arrangement of the panels. It means nothing, conveys nothing; it lacks humanity. Are the architects really so devoid of imagination that they couldn’t use a pattern? Or, if it is some purposeful design, it’s completely unintelligible.
  13. Dr. Snoot

    Toronto 65 George | 67.32m | 17s | 10Block Studio | Core Architects

There‘s nothing sketch about this area. It’s King and George in Old Town / St. Lawrence. If anything it’ll be going at a premium.
  14. Dr. Snoot

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I I am interested to know about the staging of things after the tunnel boring machine is launched at this location. Will Metrolinx need both parcels for the entire build of the OL for staging (meaning no development will happen until the late 2020s)? Or, once the TBM is launched, will space...
  15. Dr. Snoot

    Toronto Bianca Condos | 37.79m | 9s | Tridel | Teeple Architects

It’s a good effort with some interest, but I wish they’d given the gold panelling treatment to all the larger inset areas on the street facing side. It would have added so much to the aesthetic.
  16. Dr. Snoot

    Toronto Canary District Condominiums | 35.96m | 11s | DundeeKilmer | KPMB

I’m pretty sure it’s already open and accepting new patients. Great service to have in an area full of animals! I’ll also mention that Canary Dental on Front is great. Once the grocery store and a LCBO (I pray to the liquor gods) go in, every basic service will be within a short walking distance.
  17. Dr. Snoot

    Toronto 506 Church | 159.25m | 48s | Graywood | Diamond Schmitt

Oof what is this abomination. Why is it 17 different buildings?!
