    Toronto JAC Condos | 108.5m | 34s | Graywood | Turner Fleischer

^As I was scrolling down through the photos, I was saying this exact thing! (You beat me to it.) It could be their actual slogan, and if it isn't maybe it should be?

    Toronto 372 Yonge | 278m | 85s | Yonge & Gerrard Partners | DIALOG

Sure looks fake to me. Everyone is upzoning while interest rates are high.

    Toronto Concord Canada House | 231.97m | 74s | Concord Adex | Arcadis

Good to see you raging away at 4 in the morning. You're making a lot of friends here. Oh I don't know, I guess if you can build for cheap with no labour laws or human rights considerations, you can get any esthetic you want, even if it's still tacky as F? Surely you can make the connection...

His example…Dubai. “City” of falsehoods, slave labour, and trash architecture.

    Toronto 80 Bloor Street West | 263.4m | 78s | Krugarand | Arcadis

Does anyone have a final GFA on this one? (Copy of by-law etc.?) I know the density is around 43x, which is impressive, but not as impressive (and unrealistic?) as the 60x being sought at 17-19 Bloor or what was sought for 1200 Bay.) I have 1,258,463 sq ft as the final GFA, but would love a...

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

To be fair, Boston had a lot more complexity to deal with, with multiple subway lines existing in the ground, all within the purview of the plan. Didn't Seattle just bury a highway, at least a chunk of it? I doubt this is the last we will hear of burying highways in downtown urban settings...

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

Not if they are looking to be reelected by the 905. ;)

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

It's 100% the right deal. It's rare to see the major highways of a city fall under municipal responsibilities. I doubt the Gardiner cap ex plan changes much, but I am hopeful the province would eventually consider burying it.

Canada Life Building 344 University Avenue (?, ?s, GWL)

My dad worked in this building in his early career, so it's a sentimental feel every time I walk by. They shouldn't touch it, and if if development needs to occur "behind" it, make it mid-rise at most. Bulk that disappears from the 'front'. Agree about the signage, can't we put it back to the...

That’s some really nice texture on those white sections.

I'm curious how much time is saved by tarping the sides of the transfer slab floor, once the pour commences. Does that dramatically improve curing time? If so, does anyone know by how much, or would it not be possible to cure concrete in low temperatures without it?

    Toronto Love Park | 3m | 1s | City of Toronto | CCxA

What is the nearest outdoor skating rink? Harbourfront is closed this year for renovations, as I understand it. This does seem like a bit of a missed opportunity.

    Toronto U of T: Schwartz Reisman Innovation Centre (Phase 1) | 64.8m | 13s | U of T | Weiss/Manfredi

I think this building will actually look better once phase 2 is complete, as it will look like one large complex/building, with shared lobby. There will be four 'step ups' going west to east, which I think fits the area as you move closer to Queen's Park. This building stands out, but won't...

Are there reforms to the current bylaw rules around lane way houses?

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

I shouldn't have said yes, as I honestly don't know for certain, but how would they do large portions of this without curtain wall? Particularly the top 100m or so where it is sheer glass with no balconies? EDIT: I think I was wrong. Sorry to get everyone's hopes up. :(...

    Toronto 4800 Yonge Street | 168.24m | 49s | Menkes | Arquitectonica

Does anyone know how costly it is to build over active subway tunnels, as they are doing here? I recall at 501 Yonge, it added a great deal of time to construction, but I can't track down any info around the additional costs associated with this, and I am sure they are substantial.

Publicly, I don't believe so. Privately, via Altus Data Studio, Urbanation, and CoStar iirc. If you can get in to TRREB, you can also access Altus Data Studio from that login in Realm.
