    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1005176/ontario-fighting-gridlock-and-making-life-easier-for-drivers Presser out on the legislation. So no outright ban, which leaves no room for nuance, but rather an approvals process from the province. Incredibly micro-managery.

They aren't changing any heights or design here - they would appealing a technical issue in their site plan approval conditions. I've heard that the city is being resistant to applications which want to phase construction for whatever reason, I suspect it's something to do with that.

Cycling: West Toronto Railpath (City of Toronto, Phase II Proposed)

Eglinton Connects has not been approved from my understanding, no? I thought the City had instead opted for a simple resurfacing with a lane realignment to add bike lanes? The original Eglinton Connects plan was a full road reconstruction to add curb-separated lanes, streetscaping, etc.

Trinity Bellwoods in Toronto in many ways is considered one of the defining "urban parks" in Toronto and has many similar allegories to Gage Park in my mind. Gage Park is definitely an "urban park". It's not exactly downtown though. John-Rebecca Park is downtown, as maligned as it may be. The...

The city is currently in a multi-decade project to try to minimize combined sewer overflows to the point where they should be exceedingly rare, but they have no plans to fully eliminate them nor are they close to completing the work either.

Downtown Hamilton has basically 0 chains of any kind beyond Tim Hortons, Pizza Pizza, and one Starbucks. Like, almost literally none. The few that were operating out of Jackson Square have left in the last few years.

Matt's column doesn't conflict with my statement. I don't disagree inherently with what Matt says - due diligence is always important, and he is right that Billy Biship needs to be forthright with their intentions. But YTZ's stall in ridership doesn't discount it's utility even as is, and...

Bozikovic while well intentioned and right on many issues, is wrong here, I think. I do laud how he gets actual visions done up to show points - this isn't the first time the Globe has commissioned something like this. The Toronto Islands park is already very underutilized and massive. It...

TV City was filed before the height limit was implemented and thus already "breaks" the limit by a fair margin. Especially since the towers sit at the top of a ridge, they will be very prominent on the skyline. The roof of Television City is actually roughly equal in geodetic elevation to that...
