This notably now includes an unidentified, ~15,000sf "museum" on levels 3-4. Anyone know what that is? Also - tower floorplate is 410sm - I believe this may be the smallest I have seen in the City. Anyone know of any smaller?

The difference is that NYCC is also an important employment centre in itself and is also located within one of the most desirable and central areas of the city. Golden Mile has far less employment, is not as central, will be a significantly longer transit ride to downtown, and is in a far less...

a note that fancy renderings are not real buildings. I'm still generally cautious about the condo market absorbing 53,000+ units in a strip mall in Scarborough.. I suspect buildout of that area will span many, many decades.

https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1005287/ontario-taking-next-step-to-build-hamilton-lrt not too many surprises.. I do wonder what the hell this means though: Did VIA HSR get an extension to Downtown Hamilton or something? What?

    Toronto Ontario Line: Corktown Station | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | HDR

the tunnel south of here is less than 1km long so it makes sense they aren't really using a TBM for it.

the part of this next to the 403 has been sitting half-built forever with little to no movement. The exposed wood structure has started fading from the sun it's been sitting so long.

yup. It no doubt need blasting, but MTO has built plenty of freeways through similar terrain on the relative cheap. Blasting in the grand scheme of things actually isn't all that expensive. I mean.. it's not hard to shove a few sticks of dynamite down a hole and then plow it out of the way...

    VIA Rail

I think it has to do with existing road routes, correct. Driving Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal adds a lot of time today. Of course, in reality Toronto to Ottawa should probably also have a freeway along Highway 7 as well as the 401 alignment, as it's significantly more direct than current routes, for...

That park is insane. ESPECIALLY Since Toronto Parks is getting another little mini-useless park literally a block to the west

    VIA Rail

Doing Toronto - Ottawa - Montreal is about 560km. Doing Toronto - Kingston - Montreal is about 520km. So stopping at Ottawa only adds about 40km operating distance. Given that speeds are averaging around 185km/h along the line, "skipping" ottawa would "save" only 12-15 minutes of travel time...
