    2019 Canadian Federal Election

It's bizarre. It's discussed a few posts back. It's not only bizarre in environmental terms, it's just not sensible in economic and business terms either. It's May's Waterloo. But to continue on "May's Waterloo"....UK PM May as opposed to Elizabeth, and the warnings for Cdn federal parties...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

    2019 Canadian Federal Election

^ The 'elephant in the room' with oily boots on is US Shale. It has knocked the feet out from under the Western Elephant. What's so ironic with Alberta's stance is the denial of where the Market is heading. Before the Shale Revolution? Westerners would have an argument. OPEC and the US have...

    2019 Canadian Federal Election

I mispoke, but the gist is correct. From memory, she touted rail, which is an even more absurd suggestion. The bottom line is that market-forces dictate almost everything about bitumen, Greens or Cons beside. Drivers are like smokers, they'll buy the cheapest filth and expect Nature to pay the...

    2019 Canadian Federal Election

It was prime and ripe, but May stated some odd things, not so much as the following quotes infer, albeit I think @lenaitch was close, if not right, but May's proclamation on pipelines and national energy self-sufficiency violated even New Green realist thinking. May surprised me with that. Not...

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

Australian Public Transport projects & stuff

Ownership of RoW. Brampton sits on a stretch of the corridor alignment from Toronto to Kitchener not owned by Metrolinx, but retained in full title by CN Rail. Bramalea, although 'on the edge of town' just straddles the line ownership, but can have a dedicated Metrolinx track(s) extended to it...

Australian Public Transport projects & stuff

Any thoughts on it being so much larger than need for single track? https://www.infrastructureontario.ca/RER-Highway-401-Rail-Tunnel/

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

If this is as it appears, in terms of *standing law* (or not) this might end-up being petitioned to the Ont Court of Appeal. Without delving into the Act, I presume that is the legal appeal process as per https://canliiconnects.org/en/summaries/45696 Further to the above...

Australian Public Transport projects & stuff

Further to above. Took a while to track this down (terrible pun unintended), including having to tip-toe through Facebook (I'm not a member, and had to wash my hands after to get the stickiness off), and lo and behold...

Australian Public Transport projects & stuff

This makes fascinating and meaningful comparison to Ontario's Metrolinx, which takes an eternity do projects exactly like the above. What's the time frame on this project? And was it cut and cover or was a shield pushed through there? The Google View link very helpful, btw.

Australian Public Transport projects & stuff

Oh man...that's deluxe plus compared to what we're getting which is...errr...ummm...nobody can figure that out actually.

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

This may just be a procedural hiccup...it may be something far more ominous...as stated, that beggars belief.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

That's an excellent point. Whenever possible, I take a transfer just as my 'proof of payment' just have to have a record of the time left. Too many other things on my mind to keep track of the exact time of payment. The time left is an important determinant of planning ones schedule.

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I was just about to post same, and stopped myself. Sydney has built the first leg of a Metro in that time (albeit half was already extant, but still had to be modified, the other half is brand new, and tunnelled most of the distance).

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

That's just about the time it takes for the can kicked down the road to stop for the next election. It's absurd, isn't it?

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

So you could see them. Most of us are taller than the three feet high the machines are on the Flexities. And a reader is best not right at the doors, as well as being at....duh...eye height for at least the average person. How tall are you? I'm a little taller than average, such that a Presto...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Well that's very interesting, because I just checked, and can't find any. And your whim is to be taken as fact? Hey, I just caught a twenty ton fish and threw it back in, it was too small. Everyone saw it... And because I exactly know your next attempt to change the record, here is what I...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Then link and reference your claim. You also make a massive assumption on the demand of the task. It's merely a passive readout of what the card indicates. There's no need for software connection, just basic machine code level function to indicate balance. Try thinking from the other side for...
