    Toronto BMO Field Renovations | ?m | ?s | MLSE | Gensler

What a silly thing to get upset over. Is it not evident that there would clearly be a massive renovation to BMO Field if we are awarded the World Cup? Did I miss something here? It very clearly has to be expanded if it were to host a World Cup. It is even implied in the bid, as it lists its...

    Toronto 351 Queen East | 96.55m | 28s | ONE Properties | Kirkor Architects

I like that last render; even with lowering the opacity the difference in scale and the massive shadow cast on St. Paul's is blatantly obvious. -and that's the top of the campanile, never mind the height of the actual church or the surrounding buildings. Like modernizt noted, aesthetically the...

Toronto George Brown College: Limberlost Place | 52.5m | 10s | George Brown | Moriyama Teshima Architects

Even though it was my least favourite, I still think we are getting a strong design. Before seeing any of them I wanted to like Shigeru Ban because of the name, and it was indeed striking but I think a different site would be better suited for a different site. I thought Provencher Roy got an...

Toronto George Brown College: Limberlost Place | 52.5m | 10s | George Brown | Moriyama Teshima Architects

Upon first glance I think I actually like all four. Maybe least favourite being Moriyama and Teshima, but not by much.

    Toronto Exhibit Residences | 99.97m | 32s | Bazis | Rosario Varacalli

ROM, RCM, Queen's Park, UofT, AGO, a little bit of OCAD I think, CN Tower, and Lake Ontario all in one view. Does it get any better?

    Toronto The HUB | 258.46m | 59s | Oxford Properties | Rogers Stirk Harbour

I really like it. I expect some refinements but I really like the direction they are going in, with respects to the form and the colours of the materials. Those multilevel common spaces (reminds me of the Terrence Donnelly Centre) will be spectacular surely.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

So those red double lines in the second image are extended Streetcar tracks to Dufferin?

    Toronto 191 Bay | 301.74m | 64s | QuadReal | Hariri Pontarini

It appears the original configuration allowed for the courtyard to be accessed freely from all four corners as opposed to just two. I think that would make it more effective public space, especially for this 'quad' like space.

Mostly agree with what they had to say, particularly about opening up the courtyard to the public.

Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

And yet the artist is excused from not being sensitive to the public/culture that will ultimately be exposed to the work on a daily basis? Get over yourself, a commission is a commission. Also the Uptight North American vs. Expressive European is a silly binary argument, especially when it...

    Toronto FC

Great seeing people coming out. Hopefully its the first parade of many (for all Toronto teams).

Was walking in College Park the other day and this is starting to look prominent from Barbara Ann Scott Park.

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

There isn't really much VIA can do, it has to live with its concourse being under construction while it remains open, unlike GO which got an entirely new concourse while they work on the Bay Concourse. To make matters worse GO passengers still insist on cutting through the VIA concourse...

    Toronto Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Man, that rendering showing it rise above the city alongside Aura is quite the seller. While I guess density concerns are fair, I think I am most worried about Yonge Street sidewalks. They really ought to be widened.

    Toronto PRIME Condos | 148.43m | 46s | CentreCourt | Arcadis

We already are very different to Chicago in the way that we have several nodes and sub-centres. If anything we are more similar to Los Angeles in that respect. I think Toronto is actually rather neat, it's almost like an in-between between Chicago School's Concentric zone model and LA School's...

Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

If Downsview is to be used a place to host large outdoor music festivals, which it has in the past, a large station would be good to handle large crowds.
