    Next Mayor of Toronto?

And property taxes are still lower than the rest of the GTA. You can also thank Miller for increasing bus service throughout the suburban areas of Toronto. Have fun when Ford cuts those routes to the bone.

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

I love the suburban discontent with taxes. Half of the raging suburbanites seem to think HST was Miller's doing. :)

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

Yeah man, totally agree. Transit City only serves downtown, not any other areas of Toronto like Finch, Sheppard, Eglinton, or Jane. Oh, and Mel Lastman was a total downtown elitist that probably never lived a day of his life in the suburbs!

    Election Day/Night Plans?

Just bought a bottle of wine to prepare for the inevitable misery.

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

The machine that scanned my ballot said I was the 294th voter thus far at that polling station. I think voting numbers are going to be way up throughout the city - too bad the candidates are so weak. I stopped by my work place on my way home and every single person I talked to said they were...

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

Going out to vote right now. First time voting in a municipal election. Exciting day!

    Election Day/Night Plans?

I'd have posted this in the big election thread, but my question would likely get buried within 20 minutes due to the high volume of activity in there. When is everyone planning on voting? I've got the day off and will probably vote mid-day, just after lunch. I'll be voting for Smitherman and...

MetroMan mentioned earlier that one might be released at 8 tonight.

    Toronto Council Races - 2010

I just had Wood canvassers come by my building yesterday.

    Toronto Council Races - 2010

What gives you that impression? Wood seems to have the most support around here, on Broadview.

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

Okay, so that will balance the budget? That won't even come close to off-seting the cost of streetcar removal and subsequent employment increases due to the three busses replace each car. Good luck with Adam Vaughan, he's going to win with an overwhelming majority.

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

Right. Waste. So... $12,000, that's what, 3 or 4 cents per taxpayer? Gravy train and waste are your favourite talking points, but how does all this waste balance the budget? Beyond that, it seems like a lot of waste will be in Ford's plan too. Removing streetcars and streetcar tracks will cost a...

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

What makes Ford's promises more believable? Is it the sheer incredulity of them? Sipping that Kool-aid? Ford seems to be the one promising the moon here. Cutting taxes, improving service, balancing the budget. When has that ever proved possible? Should he win tomorrow night, it will be fun to...

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

Great counter-argument, it reflects Ford's visionary transit plan.

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

And you think Ford's will? The Spadina extension was funded when, 2006? 2007? And it's not expected to be completed until 2018. Ford has no funding for his plan, and even if it were to be funded - following a scrapping of TC - no assessments or realistic estimations have taken place. And if...

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

The area: urbandreamer's home The neighbourhood: Wherever a pot needs stirring, restaurant kitchens The issues that matter most to the local: Stirring the pot, trolling The sign count: Rob Ford - 1, Joe Pantalone - 1, George Smitherman - 1
