    Transit Fantasy Maps

Relatedly, anyone know what Verster was talking about when he mentioned that the Missing Link isn't necessary as they've been (paraphrasing but close) "financially astute" in negotiations with CP? This was in an interview on the RMTransit Youtube channel more than two years ago, with no follow...

    Toronto U of T: Landscape of Landmark Quality | ?m | 1s | U of T | MVVA

Here are some images finally for context. First we see the entrance to MSB at the SE corner of the circle in all of its (almost) finished glory: As mentioned, work seems to have moved almost entirely to the south end, where the pit and piles of dirt have been nearly entirely replaced by new...

    Transit Fantasy Maps

I'm not going to read too much into the white circles (Milton Line Expansion confirmed with stations in the Junction and Lambton, LSE Coxwell/Greenwood station confirmed, Barrie Line Dundas West station confirmed)

Apologies for the lack of pictures, but another brief update: First, the plants and trees seem to be all installed in the small areas on the east side of the circle (top of this image). More excitingly, the fences have come in closer to the parking structure, opening up a path directly from MSB...

Happy to announce that our long period of suffering is finally over. The fences have come down and the Front Campus field is once again accessible (no obvious progress on the south part, Hart House, or the parking lot entrance unfortunately).

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

What exactly is the supposed lack of communication? Given this individual's fervent (thankfully ineffectual) activism on the matter, they've clearly been well aware of the significant disruptions, and the blocked connection is nothing new. Having seen her most recent tweet, she seems to want...

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

I would hope so, as foreknowledge by Freeland would be even more scandalous (and is part of what I'd like the press to inquire about/investigate). Regardless, the fact remains that she stood up and applauded someone she must have realized was a Nazi collaborator, then stayed silent for two days...

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

Of course she's not a Nazi, and my comment was not intended to imply that. Her familial connections to Ukrainian Nazi collaborators (and contribution to scholarly work investigating those connections) means she has unique knowledge of the topic and undoubtedly knew what sort of group Hunka must...

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

Chrystia Freeland is the Deputy Prime Minister, of Ukrainian ancestry, and her own grandfather was a Nazi collaborator whose newspapers advertised the SS unit Hunka was a part of. She knows exactly who the "First Ukrainian Division" was and should be held to account for saying nothing...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

My interpretation of this back-and-forth was that these updates were open to the press to be reported and thus were "made public". Quite explicit that the dashboard will be released ONLY at the updates every two months.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Summarizing: Verster: They now have an internal schedule for all project elements, but will not announce a date as a result of recurring issues encountered during testing & commissioning Commit to progress updates every two months Technical update given on testing & commissioning problems...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

People here are hopeful that transit projects will get done quickly because they're transit fans. It isn't propaganda, and Metrolinx isn't planting undercover agents to spout their talking points. Realistically, the Ontario Line will finish late, as every public transit project in the...

Classes don't start until later this week, but the colleges all have their orientation weeks (I believe they started over the weekend) so the campus should be pretty busy. At least they got it to a somewhat presentable level, the giant dirt pit probably would've been a turnoff for incoming frosh.

    TTC: Jane (LRT) RapidTO

Thank goodness for the mountains which offer some reprieve from concrete and glass. Otherwise, though, not much at all (City Hall, I guess, but the massive intersections nearby aren't ideal). Can't wait til they're open for business and people can finally stop arguing theoretically and see how...

    TTC: Jane (LRT) RapidTO

Seoul isn't analogous to Toronto for obvious reasons and dwelling on foreign countries isn't particularly productive, but Line 9 was a 27km line and the original Yonge line was 10km long (same as the Finch streetcar, incredibly). The grass is greener in Seoul, and it's "not a good look" to argue...

    Toronto U of T: Landscape of Landmark Quality | ?m | 1s | U of T | MVVA

I visited yesterday morning, and pedestrians were indeed able to travel around the entire circumference of King's College Circle (wasn't true on Saturday morning). The entrance to MSB facing toward KCC was also opened, and you can now walk from the entrance on Queen's Park Crescent to King's...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Sure wish someone would present some data on the "forgotten" King Street Corridor. Drivers I know certainly haven't forgotten about it... I understand that flagrant violations of the rules are irritating, but overall the project seems to have done a good job at limiting through traffic...
