TTC: Cherry Street reconstruction and streetcar trackage (City of Toronto/TTC, U/C)

Who would've thought that we'd see an expansion of the streetcar network under Ford? So is it an extension of a line or a brand new line altogether?

Despite Toronto, Montreal gridlock, commuters reluctant to use transit

Chalk it up to personal preference/experience - I've had nothing but good results using NextBus. If it's off, it's usually 1 - 2 minutes.

Despite Toronto, Montreal gridlock, commuters reluctant to use transit

If only people were this smart though, nfitz. The text-stop program has been in use for quite a while now as is NextBus (which is very accurate) and other third-party GPS apps. Yet people huff and puff waiting for streetcars (and buses), then using their cell phones to complain via Twitter or...

WTF. What time did this happen at last night? I was on my way home from the Mod Club -- around a quarter to midnight and I was on a T1 that did the same thing, but at Lansdowne!

I believe it's a safety feature; that the operator of the train cannot open the doors until the train comes to a complete stop. I read it somewhere, if I find the quote I'll post it.

    Toronto Ion Condos | ?m | 11s | Cityzen | Arch. Unfolded

Hey, my old stomping grounds! The website for the development even shows my old park. "Roding Park" in its list of amenities. There's potential at that intersection! http://www.ioncondo.ca/welcome_flash.html

    Exodus to the Burbs

Well it was like this when I moved here in 1990 (most of the things that I listed). So I guess you can say it's ban urban since then? ;-) But yes, "urban" neighbourhoods are definitely more appealing to me.

    Exodus to the Burbs

I do the same thing in Woodbridge. My elementary and high schools were within walking distance of my house; same with recreational centres with pools. Not to mention my neighbours, who had pools. My local library was right beside my high school and another one was built about 15 minutes from...

    Vaughan Leviathan at Canada's Wonderland | 93.26m | ?s | Cedar Fair

Has anyone been to Wonderland this year? Did they make the Minebuster extra shaky? When I used to go to the park yearly, it felt like every year the ride would get shakier!

Why Streetcars Make People Crazy! (Picture)

I come from Woodbridge and I've all but stopped commuting downtown with my car. Aside from the day of my surgery; I've been at St. Mike's about 7 times this year; I parked at Wilson and took the subway; then I decide to stay downtown (purchased a Day Pass) and get around by transit. Tomorrow...

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

This is the first time that I've seen anyone used "draughting" to describe "drafting" -- I'm 28; I have a homemade drafting table and 45, 30/60 set squares and a 36" T square. Granted, they're not used as often as when I was high school and college. But they're there and I agree, manual drafting...

It makes Behemoth look like a kidville ride too! I think it's time I go back to Wonderland, I've avoided it like the plague because Paramount ruined it. I've yet to ride Behemoth and I've only been on Top Gun ("Flight Deck") once!

York Region Transit: Viva service thread

I remember when there was a bus on Chancellor (an actual Chancellor route!) and thought to myself "who the fuck is going to get on a bus through this neighbourhood?". But you're correct in your assessment that these routes get their ridership because is one ride.
