    University Avenue Triangle

There is a blurb in the Metro today. Looks like it is going to be grass, a sidewalk and park benches. Just what this site DOESNT need. Blah. Boring.

    University Avenue Triangle

Great, another piano reference. What do you think Fairmont would want to put there? The original notice indicates something that pays tribute to our rail heritage. Likely it will be a grassy knoll with some weird modern art piece that is supposed to evoke images of rail, but not look...

    TV Show: Heroes

Peter and Sylar are definitly going to have to team up to destroy Adam. That will be the big challenge - how do you get good and evil to work together to destroy a greater evil? I like the fact that who we thought was the ultimate bad guy in season 1 is really just a minor bad guy, with the...

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Great ideas - all of them. I would love to see a Pret a Manger or EAT sandwich shop in Union. The LCBO in a more prominent and MUCH larger location seems like a no-brainer to me. Why isnt there a proper book store at Union? People buy books/magazines before getting on transit. Why isnt...

    Church-Wellesley Village

I am wondering why it is that Church Street is lucky enough to be able to be closed off for so many street festivals, when other streets in this city arent? Does it speak to the power/affluence of the Church Wellesley Village BIA, or is Church Street just a more convenient "secondary" downtown...

    Best street to make over.

alla - I agree that the musuic gardens and the midrise, step back condos are great. What I want to see is the actual streetscape changed, not the buildings or treatments off-road. It doesnt make sense to me that the 1 lane each way on Queens Quay will end at Spadina, returning to a 2 lane...

    University Avenue Triangle

There is no need to "fix it" at all. It is a grassy patch sandwiched between 3 roads. It isnt falling apart, it isnt a blight on the neighbourhood. That said.... Is it beautiful? No. It is functional? For what it is, there is no need for function other than the ramp to underground...

    Best street to make over.

I would say that a re-designed Queen Quay would have a MASSIVE impact. Looks like we're in luck - it is being redeveloped. My only beef is that Queens Quay should be redeveloped all the way west, not just to Spadina.

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

went by the site for the first time today since the "line up" started. That line up sure looks like top knotch buyers! I would say that most of the people in line are likely homeless, so the $300 they are getting to wait there for a week is probably worth the wait for them.

Tories Won't Intervene to Protect Canadians from Foreign Death Penalty

Lets call an election. ... seriously though....

    Token Debacle

TTC emplyees helping customers almost seems like an oxymoron.

    Queen and Bathurst intersection closed

This is why a Queen Street Subway is a better idea than an extension to York, or a Yonge St extension to nowhere.

    CityPlace: St. Jamestown in waiting?

Does anyone know which unit in 3 Navy Whar is getting the T.O. Tuck Shop? Is it the former Zees Eyewear, or the uber tiny spot next to the Preeners Cleaners? If the later, I dont see how they are going to get much pruduce/milk/bread in there. It's a very small space.

    City's downtown population surges

If there was demand, such buildings/units would be built. If a developer creates more "family" units, I think they will have trouble selling out the building. There is a belief that families are better brought up in the suburbs. Just having more larger condo units built wont change that...

Very nice. I wish there was some more colour in the place though.

Sometimes I really wish I were around in Toronto in the 70's.

Post: Toronto learns to lift what it can't park

I have seen these in Manhattan's outdoor parking lots (the few that they do have).

    Toronto Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto | 207.86m | 53s | Graywood | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Yes there will be a space between the 2 buildings, but the underground garage is being built as one.

Ohh, MetroMan's post gave me an idea. Wouldn't it look GREAT if lights were installed in between the slats of metal that cover the crystal? At night the entire thing would glow. I wonder how much a retro-fit would cost to install fiberoptic lights in between those slats? They could be...

The Tenor (10 Dundas St E, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

I dont think there is a general system for the "convenience re-branding" or "re-naming" of anything. You cant draw the same lines between Toronto Life Square and Nathan Philips Square, or anything else. There will be a name that is used and sticks in the minds of people, and it wont...
