Help ID this location - 1970s Downtown East

"Unsubstantiated internet forum comment", yeah right. If you watch old news clip from City TV circa 1986 & 87 on Youtube e.g. Retrontario. There is a book which the title that I think it is called "Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Metro's Finest"at their gift shop in their HQ, it said...

Help ID this location - 1970s Downtown East

Well, the police cars were still painted yellow back in 1986 and that same year the police decided they should be painted white. The white cars didn't appear till 1988. Last of the yellow cars retired in 1990. Having to grown up in Toronto so I know.

    Scotiabank Cinema

I am not a fan of Scotiabank or the original Silvercities since they cater to teenagers, I am too old and it is not my taste. I think it is great Toronto have more choice on indepedent theatres. I think the problem lies with training of new projectionists and probably students should given more...

    Scotiabank Cinema

Scotiabank is going to stay. I just feel business is slow at the Scotiabank since AMC opened.

    Scotiabank Cinema

Not so sure about the staff though, but what I saw, it will be reserved seating. At box office and guest services, computer monitors already set up for Ultra AVX. The senior operations manager told me, Cineplex is using the most powerful projectors and I assumed it must be 4K projection. The...

    Scotiabank Cinema

Scotiabank's Ultra Avx is opening this Friday. Last weekend, construction workers were busy installing new seats that were arrived from Mexico and now installing the screen, Cineplex style carpeting. They raised the false ceiling to make auditorium to appear larger.

I forgot to add. Starting today at the Scotiabank, renovation will start at auditorium #2 which is beside Burger King for the conversion into an Ultra AVX theatre and its first movie will be Tron 3D.

    Scotiabank Cinema

Every Ultra Avx auditorium has the same model projector. Cineplex recently signed a deal with D-Box Technologies to install their D-Box motion coded seats for 10 more theatres and I'm not sure if the Scotiabank is going to get it...

    Scotiabank Cinema

Scotiabank Theatre is getting an Ultra Avx, not to be outdone by AMC. One of auditoriums needs to close down for the renovation to make the screens wider, new "leather" seats, speakers and more stiffer and durable carpeting. Christie Solaria 2230 DLP Cinema projector will be install inside the...

    1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

I read the TTC Coupler issue of this month, the cars would begin service on December. This would be an ideal time for the trains because of X-Mas when people go gift shopping and also New Years Eve and Day.

    Scotiabank Cinema

From what I heard from an employee at guest services, in a few weeks. She never said if the Imax would be digital or not. I will get more information on my next visit there to confirm if their Imax is digital. I highly doubt their new Imax will be film by judging the article below...

    Scotiabank Cinema

AMC is getting an Imax at their Yonge and Dundas location. Imax stickers all over the window of the AMC box office. This would be interesting for the Scotiabank Theatre since it looked so run down compare to AMC.
