    Roads: Traffic Signals

What accounts for the difference? Do they have a lot of roundabouts? Is it our grid layout?

University Avenue (History and Future Redesign)

The city is very good at talking, about these aspirational projects, but when it comes to actually funding the work to get done... it's crickets. See Rail Deck Park - City announces project. City gets sued by air rights owner. Judge looks at case, asks city why they haven't done any work to move...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Just came from College St. There is a decent amount of progress there. I'm impressed with the raised sections. I didn't realize Wellington was getting lanes. With all the new and upgraded lanes, maybe Toronto will be a major cycling city within a few years

    Toronto 20 Front West | 173.82m | 52s | Brookfield | KPMB

Sorry, I meant new proposals. There is so much in the pipeline I'd find it hard to believe that a developer would expect a return on a new office space proposal. I also would be surprised if more than one of the existing proposals goes through. Nobody wants space anymore.

I think it's a good response to market conditions. As leases come up for renewal there will be a shrinkage in office real estate footprint for most companies. This is a permanent shift in the market. Regardless of what companies say it's about what they do. Google and Amazon both said come back...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I haven't been paying attention actually (first time). From what I've seen at a glance, I've seen who not to vote for. Any recommendations?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Anyone knows what's happening on College street with the bike lanes? Construction was supposed to wrap up this month from March but it really hadn't started. I thought I'd message here first before sending an email the city contact.

    GO Transit Midtown Corridor

I thought the city/province didn't have the rights to expropriate from CN/CP due to the federal regulations. Same way that Milton (?), couldn't do anything about the intermodal terminal.

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

IIRC, the analysis showed that the section to Woodbine wouldn't have enough ridership? I personally think that the section to Woodbine is important for reducing car usage. Getting in and out of the beaches is hard with a car and having a point to jump on a semi-express to downtown (or...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

https://news.slashdot.org/story/23/02/22/205210/spain-officials-quit-over-trains-that-were-too-wide-for-tunnels Wasn't sure where to place this one. I got a good laugh on seeing this especially since it's often said we should do things like Spain. Not knocking how they do things in general...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I just did a check on a map (not real conditions), with Line 2 and 4 extended to McCowan, this might put most Scarborough residents within a 20 minute bus ride of rapid transit (Line, 2, 4, 5)? I think that's pretty good if true.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I'd have to disagree with this specific point. Development these days is more a function of what is buildable than what type of rapid transit is nearby. This is played out on the Eglinton LRT (esp east of Vic Park) vs Line 2 (really all of Line 2, not just Scarborough)

    TTC: Streetcar Network

It's a gadgetbahn. You can checkout the discussions on this forum. Reece has probably done a video on it too. What we need is more and better managed service.

Plans to fill in Allen Road

Have you heard how the right has come out swinging against the 15 minutes neighborhood? What a world we live in 🤡

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Not exactly a direct response, but as an FYI, I know a few employees and ex-employees of Metrolinx and the way its run would be closer to a case study of how not to run an organization. I've heard that's its very political vs delivering good outcomes. What we see on the outside very much fits...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

https://thebigstorypodcast.ca/2023/02/02/is-torontos-transit-system-entering-a-death-spiral/ Haven't listened to this yet. Thought I'd drop it here for interest

That's what I wonder. Sometimes when I take the streetcar I feel like I'm the only people that does pay
