Kingsett owns most of this stretch of Yonge, so I wouldn't be surprised if they sat on it for a few years while they focussed on other nearby sites.

The fact that it's so highly anticipated is also why it's such a damn tease anytime someone bumps this thread with no news. When you see the thread suddenly pop up to the top of the pages after not being seen for weeks, you expect so see some news, not someone complaining about the lack of news...

Let's be real. This is still better than 95% of what's being built in Toronto, and it's certainly unique to the city. I'd rather a third-rate Foster than the same Wallman, Core, HP and aA designs we've seen over and over again.

At first I was disappointed that the uppermost segment looked as though it got lopped off compared to the lower four, but I don't mind it now as it looks like a cap rather than the design stopping abruptly.

Given that the colour will be consistent across the entire building, I'd be that the treatment will still standout and not just look like dirty screens.

Not sure I'd describe the renderings as being fire truck red. Certainly a little brighter than what we're getting but not a stark difference to my eye. I'm sure the recent overcast skies are making it look duller than it is.

Usually I don't like a lot of mullions or spandrel, but they've used it with great effect here. The alternating tones and patterns create a nice sense of texture.
