    Proposed renaming of Dundas Street

Wow….so San Francisco equates queer or transgendered associated names to the other “wrongdoings” on their list?! That’s like lumping in people of other creeds, nationalities, hair and eye colour. You can’t choose what you look like or your gender/sexual persuasion. San Francisco….of all...

    Proposed renaming of Dundas Street

I also live near Berry Rd and Parklawn. Parklawn is fine, but I have an issue with Berry Rd. I have a few friends and one brother who are highly allergic/anaphylactic to “Berries”. My concern is that they will develop PTSD seeing the street signs when they visit me 😔😏.

    Proposed renaming of Dundas Street

I have another thought….the British named places to suit their own auditory issues when colonizing. Bombay, now Mumbai…..Peking, now Beijing, etc. I think I’ll change my address with the city from Toronto, Ontario, Canada…to the original names…Tkaranto, Kanadario, Kanata (First Nation names)...

    Proposed renaming of Dundas Street

I hope as a half aboriginal person, making me Métis, but my aboriginal family heritage is the oldest documented with the UN (due to a massive ongoing land claim) i hope you will hear my point of view. I’m descended from 4 tribes. My 1630’s great grandma was a woman who had a relationship with...

    Toronto Artistry Condos | 103.5m | 29s | Tribute | Graziani + Corazza

What some developers do/get away with borders on cultural criminality. This city desperately needs a “Save The Brick” campaign for anything older than 75 years….especially over 100! I propose a final approval panel for any and all projects where existing buildings are in jeopardy. It is to be...

Hi Karen…..I apologize for starting my message with Jodie….I thought that was your name. Every day I get on this site and every day I think of Jason and you and your family. You have responded to everyone so personally in an extremely difficult time. I have one sister and I know if she did...

Will Toronto develop an iconic signature food or food(s) like other cities?

How about.....”Murray...go down to the gas station and get me a butter tart, hickory stix, and a pack of Players’ king size”. 😂 Though it’s not original to Toronto, but rather Windsor (still southern Ontario)....Hawaiian pizza?

    Restaurant Comings & Goings

It’s sad to hear of so many unique (i.e. not chain) restaurants closing due to covid. It reminded me of an ice cream place that had the best huge waffle cone filled, and I mean heaped as well, with very rich chocolate ice cream laced with massive chunks of orange flavoured chocolate chunks. It...

Prince Charles said it best....”monstrous carbuncle on the face of an old friend”. the Dominion Bldg is a grand old lady....such a travesty if this gets plunked on top.

Dear Jodie, I have been a member on here since 2000. I have rarely posted in 21 years as I am not in the know for development in the city as per details...I read it every day to inform myself from those who are far more knowledgeable. Today, I have to post. I’ve learned so much from the...

Amare...I couldn’t seem to quote your comment...but I do know what I had to say you will understand and take to heart. I've read your posts...You are a good person...please be kind to other living things during a really nasty time, for it seems only our species is really affected. Other...

That raccoon is a sentient and highly intelligent mammal. Ounce for ounce of brain, they are far smarter than people. Though, I wonder what you think should have been done about the young woman they rescued recently from atop a crane?! Raccoons were here before your favourite “bird”...the...

What is the significance and purpose of the signage.... ”Reconstructed NINE FEET NORTH (coordinates)” is it some kind of academic public art installation?

Wow! Thank you for sharing that pic. That CIBC branch is where I had my first real job for a few years while I went to university. Brings back happy memories during a difficult time.

    Toronto 2150 Lake Shore | 215.75m | 67s | First Capital | Allies and Morrison

I like the look of the denser HBS skyline and the improved urbanization of that area (walking down Park Lawn to enjoy the area is rather bleak). My concern is the traffic issue that needs to be addressed. Immediately north of The Queensway is a residential neighbourhood that is comprised of...

    Fountain at Four Seasons

I just wanted to put something out there for thoughts and advice. That beautiful fountain in the Four Seasons entrance (that can't be turned on because it soaks arriving guests when there is a breeze) should be given to installation in another part of the city where it can actually be turned on...

On the contrary, I probably GET IT more than you might presume. I'm born and raised in this city. I've watched any sense of our history being demolished by many devolopers, as I approach retirement. That little bank facade in BCE Place brings me a sense of warmth and joy for the past. If we...
