    Toronto Concord Canada House | 231.97m | 74s | Concord Adex | Arcadis

stunning! feels like a new era for Toronto architecture is upon us with some of these new designs. I just returned from London where debate about what constitutes fine architecture is so very exciting (and produces buildings such as the Pinnacle, etc.). what struck me is how engaged Londoners...

    Toronto Massey Tower Condos | 206.95m | 60s | MOD Developments | Hariri Pontarini

i know several people who live in that area - including in the pantages tower - they love it and they feel safe. they are all shocked at how unusual the shooting in the eaton centre was. they also talk about the incredibly vibrant quality of life in downtown toronto compared to other cities....

91 King Street East (Albany Club, 25s, WZMH Architects)

I should have added.... a skyline is a thing in and of itself - if there was no tapering at all, do you think it would impact the look/impact of it? i am trying to imagine buildings 80 stories high in the distillery district let's say.. they would look bizarre, wouldn't they? believe me, I...

91 King Street East (Albany Club, 25s, WZMH Architects)

good debate - i gave three reasons why it is a good idea. besides sticking to your original point that is is a 'stupid idea', can you say why? I am trying to understand your reasoning...

91 King Street East (Albany Club, 25s, WZMH Architects)

I agree, completely wrong...... 'pencil pushers' are there to protect us (and our cities) from profit-driven developers..... who care nothing about how buildings meet streets, the materials used in construction, the ways in which buildings affect people, etc.....

Toronto CityPlace: Canoe Landing Community Centre & Schools | 15.85m | 3s | City of Toronto | ZAS Architects

Well said tkip - show me the data that show any more serious levels of crime in mixed neighbourhoods. In fact, all research shows that mixed income neighbourhoods increase everyone's health and well-being - even the wealthy! Moreover, publicly-funded housing usually brings better planned...

    Toronto OnePark West | ?m | 13s | Daniels | Core Architects

'unsavoury characters'? well, let's include my sister in that lot - she was in a terrible car accident that caused a severe pain condition years ago. If it were not for publicly-funded housing (and universal healthcare), she would have ended up on the street and likely or maybe even dead by...

    Nathan Phillips Square Homeless Issue

this quote says more about 'urban issues' than most of what has ever been posted here, yet no one has responded to it. thanks for sharing your life experiences and helping all of us to understand how vulnerable people are and what actually happens to many homeless people.... you are indeed...

    Toronto Regent Park Central Park & Aquatic Centre | ?m | ?s | TCHC | MJMA

Man, you have a thing about stigmatizing the poor, don't you? People have survived in mixed SES neighbourhoods for centuries..... Regent Park is thriving - get on board with what is happening with urban redevelopment in this town and stop the silly fear mongering. If you want facts from this...

Maybe it's the 'snowflake effect' that 'feels very Toronto' about it? It reminds me of snowflakes in some way.... It really is a work of art. I hope that actual building does justice to the beautiful rendering!

I second this - WTF is wrong with people posting those thoughts on Hume's column (maybe Rob Ford creepy crawlers....)? This building is stunning and signals the continued trend in 'architectural maturation' of this city... I posted on the forum some time ago, how I had spent a period of...

    Toronto River City Condos Phases 1 & 2 | ?m | 16s | Urban Capital | ZAS Architects

Some of us live in this 'cheesy area'.... and absolutely love it and the changes in store for it (in fact, many in the community have been actively involved in ensuring our voices and concerns are heard and taken into consideration in the planning processes). we have argued for park space...
