It's about a 4 hectare area with a depth of at least 6 metres, add a metre for the dockwall elevation. That's 280,000 m3, or only 40% of what's being excavated (690,000 m3), so point taken.

Makes you wonder why we require developers to allocate a minimum number of parking spaces.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Yeah don't rely on Wikipedia. The rail services pages is pretty good for the rail network history, but ideally you gotta learn the subdivisions and look up the timetables. Rails in Toronto isn't too bad.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I believe GO trains can hit 90 mph between Lisgar and Milton. The thing to point out here is that's a rare case; trains barely reach that echelon of speed before they have to slow down for the next station, a track switch, or general traffic ahead. The only beneficiary of high speeds on the...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Ownership was likely a factor too, service was launched in Dec 2011, Mx took ownership in Sept 2014. Hear hear. How the hell is there no direct KW-Guelph service, even for buses? But the speed is atrocious. The schedule allows 24 minutes between Kitchener and Guelph (avg. speed ~ 55 km/h)...

I second that you should ask to meet with Metrolinx about this, I'm sure it would be a huge help to you as a deafie after all!

This literally looks like a Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V job, it's the original with an addition tacked on. Let's see some curves or something, damnit!

Yay, it's not a beanpole! Which should be default for any development within 5 minutes of a subway stop.

I can't believe how much fill there is still. If it's being taken to the Port Lands for infilling, it makes you wonder if it would have been more efficient to load it via conveyor belts, over Front Street, and into rail cars along the northernmost track of Bathurst Yard.

I'm really liking the architecture, particularly for Towers A/B. Way to break the mould of blue glass and spandrel!

Isn't that what caused a power failure on the 510, and all intersecting east-west routes in the vicinity a while back?

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

I think increased voltage is a potential future improvement, but not one that can be explored until the fleet and the network is fully converted, and not something the TTC has publicly mused about yet.
