Sounds like 2+2 to me, there's no need for a 5th track (aka a CN service track). The current tunnel is pretty tight for 3 tracks.

Mostly agreed. While I don't think a stop was warranted, Tier 4 trains were a reasonable demand, and the tunnel to maintain access was essential to ensure the already segregated community wasn't further severed.

How much will Transitway ridership increase when the Crosstown is completed to Mt Dennis? When/if it is extended to Renforth? If they don't start the extension construction before Crosstown opens, prepare for lots of lamenting about 'the gap.'

I thought about that, but why wouldn't those EB passengers just take the LRT to the airport that comes every 5 minutes vs the UPX that comes every 15?

I can see the case for this not being a UPX stop considering that the Finch West LRT would be extended to the airport. The LRT serves the purpose, therefore no one would ride it, and it would be a time cost to everyone else. After all, that plus adding a stop at Mount Dennis would make this far...

Was about to jump in on the platform piece. It would replace a track that used to be there. I would also add that the runthrough track and Silver seem to be far from mainline speeds. See my post from the service thread:

The archilles heel of the bypass (in its original form, with both CN and CP using it) was that east of Halwest, CN would need to share that routing with CP to get them to their Mactier and Belleville subdivisions. The only reason it was logjammed, and subsequently settled to be a CN-only...

I believe a layover was, at some point in time, planned immediately west of Mt Pleasant GO. There's still a switch and unactivated signal on the south track. I think something happened, perhaps it was not accommodated in the development plans or the extension/grade separation of Creditview Road?
