    Baby, we got a bubble!?

I'm sorry for hurting your feelings and for polluting this thread, neither of which were my intent when posting.

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

It's interesting how many assumptions you need to make throughout your posts on this thread. My education and understanding of the political spectrum is not clouded by my own personal views (which are decidedly not social democratic, according to either an objective definition or yours), and I...

She clearly is not to an objective observer that understands social democractic principles.

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

If you think Amanda Lang is representative of social democratic worldview you're just an incapable of objective analysis as you claim she is!

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

Exactly. Hillcrest is a good example of that: the last time they published this the average house price had jumped staggeringly maybe 19 opr 30 something percent, and this year the number has plumetted (sp?), probably because that area includes Wychwood as well as more modest areas so more...

    Rob Ford and Pride

The mayor is elected to represent all citizens. The problem isn't that he does or doesn't attend each and every single event held in the city. The problem is that Ford only misses events that represent citizens he doesn't like or doesn't agree with. That is not appropriate for a mayor.

Actually I would say that Burlington-Hamilton electing a single mayor could make a lot of sense - if the amalgamation had included only Stoney Creek, Burlington, Hamilton and the developed portion of the mountain, and not the super rural parts like Binbrook, Flamborough, etc. It's just that...

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

I disagree. They are two very different markets and consumers in those markets are looking for different things. People bidding on 3-bedroom houses with a patch of grass, a basement and a garage aren't going to turn to 2-bedroom condos with a balcony and a parking locker if they get priced out...

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

Were they suggesting eliminating the 30 years altogether or onlywith regard to CMHC-insured loans?

You can find those if you're interested enough. Seach the topic with Google. I did and it comes up at least three or four times. You're good with Google when it suits your purposes ;) When people say "it's different this time" and "it's different here" sarcastically they're either ignorant...

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

Obviously, by not actually replying to his point directly you've conceded it, but if you go back through the thread there are multiple discussions and comparisons re: Toronto's condo situation to Miami's going back as far as 2009. As for action not being influenced by price increases, I can't...

    St Clair West

Very true. A lot of the smaller 'ethnic' businesses that left the strip left not because of the ROW but because of the changing demographics of the area and the aging of the shop-keeping population. And even with that going on, there are still three Italian butchers, a bunch of Italian...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Downtown elits trying to over-turn the will of the people? This is exactly the type of thing Ford wants and badly badly badly needs. If these people want to get rid of Ford, well they're doing it wrong. Very wrong.

Yeah the loss of that Blockbuster has really cemented that corner's sketchiness...two money marts, an LCBO, a dollar store, a really shabby TV antenna place and a storefront 'church'. St Clair West really alternates in its sketchiness, nice from Yonge to Loblaws, then from Loblaws to Kenwood it...

Anyone know if Hungarian House ever sold? The boxing club has moved out to the 401/Dufferin and the DTZ for sale sign is down.

I agree it is perfectly legal. But weren't Ford and Minnan-Wong getting after Mihevc for his potential use of his office budget to solicit a legal opinion on whether Council approval was needed to cancel Transit City ...

    Toronto Rise Condos | 76.5m | 23s | Reserve Properties | Graziani + Corazza

The leftover tenants in the on-site building where the showroom is have been given a year's extension to their eviction.

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

Low entry-level salaries are overcomable, but the combo of low entry salaries and large student debt loads definitely make it difficult to take the traditional post-secondary steps of buying a house, car, having kids, etc. Definitely a concern.
