Gentlemen, after a few days’ absence I have now had a chance to read your posts over the last few pages and (OMG!) some of you are dangerously myopic. This thread is a discussion of “New TTC Subway Carsâ€, and it’s clear from the media coverage of the delivery of the 1st TR test car, each...

Per Agram: "As it looks now my prediction still stands these trains will not be in service before late March or early April." Someone told me they heard that there will be a TR in fare service in December. Can that be true?

Hey, nice video, but why does it have "Subwayboy" all over the pictures? Heh Hemmmm.

Doesn't anybody have an answer for this?

Gotta love them video screens, eh? I see the press release for Montreal's new order highlights this feature too - good for them, eh? BTW, anybody got an answer for the above? SB

As I saw someone else say, I am glad to finally see the inside of the real thing - not just mock ups. Delighted to see the LED (?) TV screens. Does anybody know how many TV screens per car there are? In "Mark's" video (if Mark created it) I could see inside the moving train's windows - that...

Yup i WOULD'VE been happy to see 'em....still have yet to see a good close up of the actual (not mock-up) LCD screens as installed....guess we'll just have to wait for this BIG SECRET to be revealed once they're in service.

So...what are you waiting for, just give us the link! Does it show any pics of the inside? Maybe even the LCD monitors? Hmmmm????

The reason I keep asking (now and then) about the new car-bourne LCDs is in the hope that someone (like maybe Agram) has, or can get access to acutal pics of the actual installation of the LCDs in the new TRs, as we (hopefully) get closer to launch. If you had been following my posts (and...

Me too :D Now... if we could only get to see those LCD screens above the windows, and how many are there?:p (I'm baaaack....)

For some reason, i couldn't get this video to play for me...but it looks shabby to me:p

I haven't ridden the GO (urban dweller), but since the GO is above ground, passengers can see outside scenery, and can receive cell signals etc (less captive an audience), therefore these screens have less value in my opinion.

    Thank you. My point exactly.

    1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

Guys, me thinks you're missing the point. Of course it will have to be maintained; of course it's not "NECESSARY". My point is that they can put news, etc passenger-friendly entertainment messages etc (to enhance the rider-experience - badly needed PR for TTC right now) + can be a revenue...

I think it's all a matter of one's perspective. These car-borne LCDs are popping up world-wide; check it out. All the "big" cities subway cars are getting them. But I've always found the Canadian attitude to be negative first (shoot first, ask questions later). I think, by the enthusiastic...

Thanks Agram; now YOU sound like a reliable insider...can you tell us, at least those of us who are interested in LCDs on-board (eh, noctis? - you'd better turn away, lol), since it sounds like you've been inside an actually built TR car, do the new cars have LCDs, and if so how / where are they...

    1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

and maybe they make nice LCD screens for passenger enjoyment......lol, eh noctis?

    1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

@noctis See the above pic earlier kindly provided to me by one the nicer chaps (like yourself) on this thread. If you zoom in on this pic (use your control key and your "+" key) a lot you will see the proposed LCD screen ( a little recessed) just to the left of the bluish ad. So, I don't...

I don't know about that line (i'll go look), but did you check out any of the 5 others I listed? They are indeed passenger info screens, but they are multiuse, because the pics i've seen show a lot of other stuff too being shown on those monitors. Don't forget, if the new TRs have these LCDs...
