    Baby, we got a bubble!?

There has been overvaluation and overbuilding for the past 3-4 years. I've been hoping for prices to go down, but honestly, it is hard for me to expect that to happen, especially in Toronto, for several reasons: 1. Canada is very friendly to foreign investment in real estate and housing here is...

Five Condos (Graywood Developments, Mod Developments) - Real Estate -

I'd have to go back on what I said. While some units are indeed small, there are others that work quite well. Further, looking around the area, only comparables I can find is U Condos, Nicholas and Chaz and those are somewhat more expensive, U condos especially. This seems to be 750-800 psf range.

Chinese investors avoid taxes through Canadian real estate

I'm confident that you are an honorable person. Both of my statements have support, and I appreciate your questions: As Vancouver home prices surge out of reach, businesses worry how to retain staff See 'Locating Risk of Homeslessness on the Housing Continuum' part of this paper I don't...

Chinese investors avoid taxes through Canadian real estate

Predictable response to this on the board. Clearly RE agents or people otherwise profiting from such money laundering. No mention of the fact that homeless population in Vancouver has exploded. No care for the fact that Canadian businesses in Vancouver can't retain/recruit people cause they...

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

Most of the time, sure. Just not this time. Usually, money that has to be laundered was obtained illegally, and is thus likely in possession of people that are highly likely to have committed crimes. I.e. criminals. I'm pretty sure you're ok with it even if they are criminals, though. Most...

    The Condo Game [CBC Documentary]

the other huge issue here is the lack of proper urban planning because the city has little power to tell developers what to do. all these condos are going up, but there is nothing around them that is being built to support actual livable neighbourhoods.

    Controversial advertising in Toronto

Pardon the snark, but if you do not know, why do you speak on the subject? How should I be convinced that your opinion has any merit? It's actually quite well established in research literature that exposure to violent media results in violent behaviour. For example, see here. Many more if...

That sucks, I liked the accessible way in which you presented rather complex data. You have a knack for that. Hope you don't disappear altogether.

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

How about... your analogy fails to capture the substance of the argument? Our society didn't magically appear out of nowhere and can't be reduced to hikers, one of whom put a little bit more time in the gym, sorry. Wanting people to pay their fair share is not punishment. You viewing that as...

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

The point wasn't to argue about a a specific number. The 91% was targeted at what would effectively be any income over $2 million. It didn't kill any motivation or initiative. On the contrary, the 50s were great economic times. And this 91% was in force when one of the great conservative leaders...

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

I work 80 - 100 hour work weeks and say this to brockm: if you are too blind to understand how privileged you are to get the opportunities you've had to get to where you were and are too much of a crybaby to participate in a slightly more fair, but still grossly unfair (think 3rd highest levels...
