We are getting a whole new line. The first since 2002 and Line 4. And this one actually goes somewhere (Aside: other than to North York MEC which is at Bessarion Station.) It's 19km long and includes five interchanges from day one. Stop quibblin'. This is only a bump in the road. There will be...

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

For $53.9 million I want to build it, not design it. For goodness sake, it's two sets of parallel rails on a surface that is already a road. That can't cost $53.9 million - to design!

I take no joy in this. I'm dyin' to use it. Before the critics come out, forecast anything a decade ahead and see how close you come. This is largely on time and as big a number as $300 million is, it's a 2% variance with $12.2 billion.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

The ball is in the city's court. There are no limitations that the city does not impose on itself.

Or you could read the platform next train signs - digital - woo hoo! - or the digital scroll signs.... In my mind's eye... Platform Sign Line Terminus Time to next train Line 5 Kennedy...

Glass half full. Glass half empty. It's all coming. The Don Mills LRT has morphed into the Ontario Line. The West extension is one of four priority projects of the province. And the Jane LRT is on the city's short list. Two thirds of this blue line is scheduled to open in 2 years and the Don...

Road Safety & Vision Zero Plan

Serious question. This topic is complex and the way the discussion is going it's always a driver's fault. But I witness pedestrian behavior everyday that is careless according to what I learned as a child. Kindergarten taught "Stop, look and listen before you cross the street." On UT the...

The recent numbering is for the subway lines. Buses have had number since forever. Or even when I was a student. Islington 37. As for going to university, normally one who completes university is observant. And an observant person might have noted the bus number on the roll sign Or transfer...

Looking at it again. Yes, It says "Barrie Line" But it would have been clearer with a logo "GO Barrie". Or "GO Kitchener". And folks, this from the organization that runs GO Transit. It is sad that the jurisdictional stupidity runs to TTC not putting GO logos on maps and GO not putting TTC...

The boat has sailed on this. We should re-name this thread. It's called Line 5 Eglinton. Which - for the record - is just fine by me. I have ten fingers; however, so I can count higher. We should get on with harassing - sorry - pushing - the provincial government with getting Line 7 and Line 8...

I have bemoaned this before. Way to go after 70 years of Toronto subway operations! We all know that the TTC iconography has interchange stations as white circles with rings around them. Here we have white circles with triangles indicating directions. Note that now with this convention, Mount...
