    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

But with grocery pickup, you don’t need the store that won’t be there. It’s a block away. Nuts to that. I wanna grab it on the way home. The day has been long enough.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

@Admiral Beez , all cars have both and have since the delivery of 4400.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

If the transportation cost is not offset somehow, I can see drivers back on the road.

But reflecting the change there should be a huge Smart Pickup, Penguin Pickup, Amazon Pickup, Metro Pickup, Longo’s Pickup, Sobey’s Pickup, Loblaws Pickup station.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I live here. I‘ll have to go set the record straight. I just signed up for the e-blasts. @achender this will probably be cantilevered over No Frills, the Gerrard LCBO, the Gerrard dog park and Bonjour Brioche. ?

They have trains onsite that won’t see service for three years? Wow!

    TTC: Streetcar Network

The ladder track at the south side was completely rebuilt only 5 years ago when they took half of Eastern Ave. I figured that rebuild was to accommodate three Flexities end-to-end on each storage track.

Don’t wonder why we have such violent reactions to relatively minor issues then.

Toronto non-mall retail (Odds & Ends)

The Tulip story is very sad. I have had more than a few brunches and late night dinners there.

Toronto non-mall retail (Odds & Ends)

One has to be very brave to open a business with these rents. I don’t like the odds.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Can the sarcasm, man. One meaningful difference is that the Canada Line is ABOVE GROUND. Once the foundations for the pylons are done, there are no geological surprises including groundwater. There were also no seventy year-old interchanges to build under and interface with. New build is always...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

My own view is that in addition to the point that @crs1026 made, the Davenport diamond overpass and other needed infrastructure improvements like double tracking through the city will not be complete until around 2023. The corridor is far from ready for a bunch of new stations which will be...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I was going to post this. But I am not a Royson James fan so I had to work hard to read the entire article. - which I did after @TheTigerMaster posted it. The TYSSE otherwise known as the Line 1 extension was a 100% public project that also had delay and cost overruns. No matter who is managing...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

The language is extreme over something so trivial as choosing a seat. Rage? Really? Irritation maybe. Life is too short.

Real estate too expensive or strategy u-turn for GAP to something else?

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

@W. K. Lis et al, it’s all lovely. These smaller cities are wise examples of good urban design that all of us admire when we travel and wish we could bring home. But Toronto is in a different realm and we need to aspire to the solutions of New York, London, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. Even Ottawa can...

    1. Has the city lost any beeches to the beech blight going through Ontario? 1. Forty years after Dutch Elm, can elms be reintroduced successfully?
