I've counted several times and I'm not getting 35 storeys at the change in floorplate.

Regarding the slab vs point tower debate.... I think point towers are favoured because they have less of an impact on the street environment. Slabs lined up along the street shoulder to shoulder, as they are on Carlton between Yonge and Church, make for a long dark canyon. A point tower on a...

I was thinking the same thing. If you look at the employment density map posted in the same thread, the argument for a Sheppard subway becomes evident. http://urbantoronto.ca/showpost.php?p=185526&postcount=11

Good to see some pedestrians in the area. I've walked out that way on several occasions and have noticed that this part of town is starting to pick up.

    Now that's connectivity!

I agree. Union is already very connected-north, east and west, and arguably, south. As GO services improve and diversify following electrification, it'll be even more so. Adding additional east-west capacity out of Union is redundant.

    Toronto Union Centre | 298m | 54s | Westbank | Bjarke Ingels Group

Much of the old equipment is still being used, while portions of the traffic is slowly being migrated over to new systems. I saw a lot of empty space during my last visit to 151 about 4 years ago. Carriers colocating with others wasn't unheard of at the time because of the over-availability of...

I can't see any further demand for space required for carrier equipment. The hardware replacing legacy systems has become so small that the equipment that formerly occupied whole rooms measuring 20' x 20' are now housed in a half rack with a 2ft square footprint.

    Urban Toronto Mobile

Is there a way to change the default back to the regular version. I found the original showed up better on the iPhone than the mobile version does.

It appears that the Ritz will be much more slender than the renderings have suggested.

    Toronto Motion On Bay Street | ?m | 29s | Concert | IBI Group

This seems to me the most logical explanation for the design change. Item (b) under issues to be resolved calls for the protection of the view to City Hall from the south. The new design appears to pull the western facade of the building away from the centre of the site. With the older design...

    Toronto Nicholas Residences | ?m | 35s | Urban Capital | Core Architects

There are some rather handsome brick homes and other low-rise buildings to the north of the Radio City tower and at 30+ storeys, its impact on the small scale 'feel' of the street is negligible. The developers continued the same scale southwards with the new Radio City townhomes quite...

    Toronto Nicholas Residences | ?m | 35s | Urban Capital | Core Architects

The reaction to the proposed tower is overblown. The architect has taken pains in designing the base of the building so that its base reflects the qualities and scale of the neighbourhood. For comparison, the north Radio City tower fronts onto Mutual St., and regardless of its height, it fits in...

    Paris Speak in Toronto

There seemed to be an assumption in the room that emergency services were able to use the ROW for their operations but this was never clarified. From what I heard, I don't believe emergency services use the ROW in Paris. The presenter indicated that if fire services had to remove overhead wires...

Verve Condos (Tridel) - Real Estate -

I would have preferred it if this tower had been designed as an inverted T instead of the current L. I find it too overwhelming to the scale of the surroundings around Wellesley east. Had it been tucked away behind the existing streetwall, it would have fitted in more nicely.
