    Apple Store

That looks like that know-it-all computer in the most recent season of Westworld.

    Restaurant Comings & Goings

Atrium Toronto says Hazukido croissants is opening soon there.

    Corktown

https://www.blogto.com/city/2017/09/toronto-office-space-we-headquarters/ Nope, it's a startup-worthy office. Other than the recent Trudeau controversy, what else is did you find controversial about WE? Seems strange to me that they have the money to have such a nice office and can hold big...

    Amazon Alternatives?

Kauai can also support a Costco. I'm sure the 1.2m visitors per year helps.

    St Lawrence Market

There are no more tourists. SLM is safer than the nearby Metro as not everyone is lining up to pay at the same checkouts. Keep it open (but stop the mustard samples).

Downtown Grocery Store List (current + proposed)

I'm sure they've been looking. It's just they won't be able to find somewhere downtown with cheap enough rent for their low margin business model. As for the online shopping option, didn't they already partner with InstaCart?

    Toronto Eaton Centre

Wasn't there a leak in that area a few weeks ago? Could be because of that.

    Toronto Eaton Centre

There's already another Baby Gap store on the lower level. Sounds like CF is positioning the higher end stores at the south end of the mall, instead of just the top level. That should make Saks happy.

    Holt Renfrew (includes hr2)

Nordstrom isn't really high end though. It's for the upper middle class, below Holts, Saks, and Neiman Marcus.

    Yorkdale Shopping Centre

It's more of a mix at Yorkdale. Somerset is really two malls (one high-end, one mainstream) connected by a long bridge.

    Toronto Eaton Centre

I would argue that the new bridge between Saks and the rest of the EC is a standout feature of great design and the giant reindeer Christmas decorations when they first appeared were quite eye-catching. Of course everyone would like more of these design features but that's different than asking...

    Toronto Eaton Centre

So much nostalgia about the EC of the 80s or 90s. Unfortunately for you guys the market forces all malls and retailers to update or die. Let's just be glad that Toronto's downtown is bustling and that the EC is still a thriving retail destination. There are still malls that haven't updated since...

    Department Stores then and now

Where Walmart is now at STC was not a department store before. I remember it being a BiWay or Bulk Barn on the lower level at one point. I also remember a Magic Pan restaurant off to the side there and the hot air balloons in front of the Bay store.

    Hudson's Bay Company

It works maybe 80% off the time. It was down over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend (which probably cost them a pretty penny) and I've found their checkout pages are sometimes wonky (not loading, calculating discounts incorrectly or just plain slow). Their filter drop downs are also annoying...

    Sears Canada (1952-2017)

Saks Off 5th or Nordstrom Rack maybe.

    Amazon Second HQ

I think Toronto would be a great choice for Amazon's second most important office too and if they are really looking for all those things they've outlined I don't think there's many other options for them in North America... thus our governments shouldn't play into Amazon's game and offer them...

    Amazon Second HQ

There's a couple of things that irk me about this whole Amazon HQ2 competition. 1. Amazon is making a big deal out of this and seeking the media competition in order to get cities to bribe them with incentives. They most likely already have a couple of cities chosen already and are hoping that...

    Apple Store

Apple would have had an opportunity to take the Harry Rosen space, the Samsung space, or the Uniqlo space. Each of which are some of the most visible spaces in the EC. If they don't take 2 Queen then even CF has to wonder what the hell more do they want?
  19. B

    Apple Store

If this is the case and they couldn't think of a way to put something up in the new north end (where Uniqlo and Samsung ended up) or at 2 Queen then I don't know if CF has anything possibly better in the EC. Sure, they could take over the BCBG but that's really settling for something simple...

    Apple Store

I think the concern is that there have been no indications still that CF is doing anything to accommodate a newer or bigger Apple store or that Apple has even started seeking out a better spot. It's generally accepted that the Eaton Centre Apple Store is too crowded, so things should have...
