Your "facts" you're relying on aren't necessarily true. One of the articles linked above mentioned that while there was an earlier study that claimed there would be transit savings of 30 seconds, another claims 30 minutes. Many here keep touting that "30 seconds" isn't much and so this highway...

My obsession is with free & unrestricted movement, convenience, and getting places quickly.

I, for one, have to refute this. Growing up a minute from the QEW was fantastic convenience. It was great to live near a highway that could take you places quickly. Everyone in my neighbourhood would agree- we had little turnover for real estate, and when homes were for sale, they sold quickly...

It bothers me that when they moved that mature tree they placed it slightly crooked instead of perpendicular to the landscape.

Agreed. This is the norm in Chicago. The L train has the next several train departure times listed before you pay your fare. I can't understand why the TTC still does not offer similar.

To be honest IMO we would have been better off in terms of GTA traffic flow if this was completed. Perhaps not the route they planned that would have destroyed some nice heritage, but something alongside it. For a major world city, our road connections and expressways are laughable

You forget about young families that would have bought said homes. They'll be either: strained by higher prices for the homes in the area (lower supply will increase prices faster), or they'll be pushed further away outside the city, enduring longer commutes and still contributing to traffic...

I'm still hopeful someone will see the logic. We need connections. Connectivity. There are traffic problems in northern Peel and they need to be solved. We need to do something NOW. Sure, do that stuff, after this missing link is completed.
