    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

Kind of surprised they went and opened the bus terminal in the midst of the pandemic... wouldn't it be safer to be waiting in open air than inside of a building? Metrolinx could have delayed the switch I'm sure. Perhaps costly, but you know what, better safe than sorry

    Bloor-Yorkville Scene

RE: 157 Bloor for lease I remember hearing Club Monaco was leaving a few years ago, but I think something changed and they stayed. At the time I also heard rumours the U of T art gallery could move into the space. I think that was a missed opportunity; that intersection would have been an even...

    Covid-19 in shopping malls

I was disturbed at how lax everything was at Sherway Gardens the last time I was there. Lots of crowding, people ignoring directional arrows. Security walking around did not say a word to redirect people.

67 Lakeshore West (Oakville, Bevco Homes, 4s, ?)

    ^Oakville has a 4 storey height limit?

    Mississauga Lakeshore Lofts | ?m | 4s | Indwell | Invizij Architects

Why is there zero attempt at any sort of streetscape on a major thoroughfare? Some businesses fronting Lakeshore on the main floor could provide rent to further subsidize the housing costs of those this facility is meant to serve

    Toronto 350 Bloor West | 117.65m | 35s | Andrin | IBI Group

The Shoppers next door practically is a grocery store, after their expansion. They have a huge grocery area. Don't forget there is also an Independent CityMarket over at Manulife Centre (former ValuMart / Bloor Street Market)

    Toronto U of T: Faculty of Medicine Building Expansion | ?m | ?s | U of T | MVRDV

Hmmm... Interesting news... I have been hearing contradictory things about this. They've been wanting to redevelop this section for quite some time now. However, in recent years, there have been some renovations in this part of the building, despite the pipe dreams of redevelopment. Going back...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

Uh... Are Brampton and the Province in communication with each other? Why does Brampton seem to be saying the GTA West Corridor isn't happening, while Ontario says it is?

    Toronto Grand Hotel Redevelopment | 153.95m | 49s | Amexon | Core Architects

Wow, that's some beautiful artwork next door. I'm surprised the side that they have it facing though. Isn't that going to get covered up (or at least obscured)by redevelopement of the Grand?

    Toronto U of T: Centre for Civilizations, Cultures, and Cities | 42.75m | 9s | U of T | DS + R

For something *years* in the making, one would expect something that looks a little better. What's proposed is indeed quite hideous.

Kwong Centre, 407 Huron St (?, 3s, ARK Inc.)

Well the house sure is looking better. According to those sales records, it used to be a frat house?

THIS. The height wouldn't be so bad if they indeed terraced down to make it more of a gradual rise. And yes, definitely- they could have maintained the gross floor area if they made more use of the plaza in front of the planetarium's current spot. They could have made the building an L shape...

^ jarring is a highly appropriate word. WHY IS THIS SO BIG were the community consultations not very highly advertised?

Uninformed statement right here. Let's try to keep discussion focused on the project :D

ugh i still can't believe that jumbly mess is going to be allowed to happen. but I digress. I actually kind of like Banting. Maybe not to the degree of full-retention, but maybe some aspects of it could be saved somehow. I'm more concerned with the naming. Two buildings named after pioneering...

    Toronto 191 College | 95.18m | 31s | Unix Housing Group | Icon

Ah darn it... does UT typically remove things if asked? Even from what was posted, please tell me at least the facades of the homes would be retained. I like these rows of housefronts here, they make for a more animated street

    Mississauga Westport Condos | ?m | 22s | Edenshaw | Arcadis

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo all the curvature is gone?! Ugh. Sometimes I think developers submit interesting designs just to get the public onside, then switch to something else at the last second because it's "easier"/cheaper for them. This looks SO bland and boring now. Ugh ugh ugh.

Holt Renfrew Renovations (50 Bloor West, Morguard, 2s, Gensler)

Agreed. So weird though, what's the point of the tall 20 foot windows (they even emphasize this as a feature in reno descriptions) if the space behind isn't actually 20 feet high. The experience from inside will be just like having 10 foot windows.
