I honestly think they are planning for future demolition of the remaining textile building which would finish up this block and cover that wall. I mean I often forget that building is even THERE- and when the next tower goes up beside it it will be hidden completely.

You do have a point there - in future someone could punch out those windows, add a cornice to the top and make it look "better", so there is at least that hope for the future. I really want to know the reasoning behind that - what is going on with the interior floor plans to have merited this...

Vranich is a stain on this city.

Let's face it, even liuna pales compared to core urban. William Thomas only looked good because the existing stonework was already there.

Yeah I just have high standards - this literally looks like something Vranich would build, and that is NOT high praise. You can see the join lines - it literally looks like 3 precast levels simply stacked onto each other - it doesn't feel organic at all and there is no stone elements - to...

That concrete ceiling part by the kitchen still looks AWFUL - the one in the bedroom looks better, looks like there is some grain type finish on it - but the seam marks on the kitchen.. yeah no.. very much no.

it DOES have a beautiful view of the armory - the gap above the oven is a bit weird - is there a microwave going there? a range? And why arent rangehoods incorporated into designs so you don't smell up the apartment? I always wondered that, they're staples in homes.. the floor is cool but I...

We've alll wondered that for a very long time... Also this build is horrible - hate to say - that green part is the only interesting part, and I think that's just the vapor barrier part so it'll probably juts be dark when it done. This could have been done so much better and now it just feels...

It's still rectangles but I will give it credit for colour and creative rectangle patterning lol

Honestly? Tear up ALL the concrete and domes and just make it all grass, import some older trees and have it be a nice substantial park with some nice middle feature like a giant waterfall trickling over a huge rock feature or something or even another fountain - go the victorian park route with...

Gooo curves and angles! I get in some cases such things reduce footprint useability but it can all be done smartly - look at any futuristic cityscape - lots of angles and shapes - if this is the future I want it to LOOK like the future hehe..

Don't you know? Pretty much all interesting buildings are downgraded to boring blocky architecture in this city. The only time we see arches is if core urban builds something. There is nothing architecturally significant about this building anymore. It's just meh. Infill meh. 40 years from now...

Well they DID call it an oasis, so clearly even THEY know this.. it's their wonder wall of a building.. sorry.,. bad joke.. lol..

So looks like it's gonna be a point of contention eventually - and with so MANY high rises being built around this area a lot of people are going to get more than they bargained for. I mean yeah I hear sirens where I am but it's more distant - not RIGHT in my back yard. Haha, siren NIMBYism

I wonder if they've factored in the fact they are going to be living RIGHT beside a fire station and the noise that will bring.. It pays to know your surroundings.. no amt of soundproofing is gonna make that worth sleeping through.

Aww I was looking forward to it being built.. we have an unsettling history with letting theatres.. rot.... this one, tivoli, avon.. I really liked the look of this one, maybe someone will take up the torch..
