Great shot! The tenth floor pour looks to be almost double height. Could it be both the 10th floor core and mechanical? Would it be unusual to encase a mechanical in concrete?

Not really, that location was set-up for failure from the start. A basement, over priced food, with a very obscure street level presence that is overshadowed by a massive department store and homophobic fried chicken fast food. I remember walking around the grocery store when it opened and...

Many are more so worried about the fact that the shelter will now stay open for years to come. Why renovate and reopen the existing hotel when it will be torn down in 4ish years? I bet the owners will be pushing to extend the contract with the city. And in my opinion, this is a very good thing...

The only thing I agree here is it will stand out. As the worst building in the area. What a bait and switch.

Dam, if only @JasL was a few more floors higher. I imagine floors 40+ will have stunning views facing South.
