Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

i support BD subway, but I doubt this changes anything since TO doesn't have an appetite to pay for the additional cost of a subway Though it seems feasible that it could be paid by cutting from the budget...$1B over 15 years is $67M...the vehicle tax was that much and the budget still...

Anyone have any experience with condorebates.ca?

are we just talking about the gst/hst rebate and land transfer tax rebates, or is there something else...the forum page is long on exposition and short on any relevant details My brother had a condo close last year...if there is something we are missing i'd be interested in hearing more...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

I concur. Relatively speaking the costs of getting subway instead of LRT was something like 600M I recall reading on here somewhere...well worth it...some times you have to give what the people want...small price to pay....plus, BD extention has the ridership to support building it, so I don't...

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

there is a limit on principal residence designation - only one property in a given year can be designated as such - but there is no requirement for number of days - cottage example being a very good one to explain the concept

is this project actually going to have direct access to PATH, or just close by? Marketing materials seem to say easy access, but not 'direct'...

    New Transit Funding Sources

while it sounds good in theory (and if it ends up happening, I hvae no problem taking advantage), i don't see it happening...municipal banks, auto insurance corps...whats next municipal construction companies? Where is the theoretical end? Isn't there a strong likelihood that a munucipal...

Huh, I didn't realize Milliken was considered underserved...it has the ttc running 53 bus fairly often when the station is in use (only morning and evening rush hour times since its got trains only, no buses)...also has a yrt bus that goes to milliken (presumably timed as such to make it for trains)

    New Transit Funding Sources

Agreed...just stating an opinion...maybe could hvae 1% dedicated to transit, and 1% dedicated to general revenues...but again, issue becomes making sure transit portion is being used as such

    New Transit Funding Sources

My opinion is that sales tax (for ALL of ontario) should go to 15%...basically increase the ontario portion from 8% to 10%...no one can really complain because 6 or 7 years ago we were already paying that...easy to implement as well of course the problem is that it can be tough to have it...

not that anyone really knows, but estimates for hosting fees seem to range around 50Mil to 200Mil (personally I'm guessing closer to 100Mil) Any idea how much the province stands to gain from a casino in Toronto? If you consider the 100M, plus some proportion of the provinces take coming back...

Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

im not qualified to say about this whole TBM business in terms of the ability to reuse to save money...but im really disliking the analogies that somehow the possibility that we can save 1% of the cost is not that important because its only 1%...its still 30M that could be deployed...

Not necessarily true...in fact i find for most projects (esp the well known/pricey DT ones) that VIP sales and such are done well before the sales centre opens agreed. Any idea what psf the bldg is selling for?

i don't think that it is dropped as a concession, as the builder gave the option of holding buyer deposits until relaunch and then allowing those buyers first crack at newly launched units...but who knows

    Toronto eCondos | 195.67m | 58s | Bazis | Rosario Varacalli

Thought I'd add what I know. Indeed the shorter north tower (which was also less expensive) was cut from marketing and IN FACT, buyers in that tower were refunded their deposits. Entire tower was scrapped for a relaunch (for reasons unknown - hard to believe it was due to lack of sales since...
