Old building is fenced, demolition is in progress. Smaller pieces are being taken out of the building. Windows are also being taken away.

I drove by one day and found that there are actually people living there now, at the top most level. I guess demolishing will begin soon.

There are some windows on the rear side of both buildings, but not too many of them. I believe they are windows for the hallways.

Hello, the Y shaped buildings are staying, and the shorter, dark brown buildings will be replaced by the 2 new buildings. Overall, there is no change in terms of the number of rental units. The value of the units there may not sky rocket like the ones in downtown, I believe the value will go up...

I didn't get any form of notice from the builder too. But I did talk to Karen and know that it is going to be posponed to June 2012. I also viewed a condo website about Emerald City phase 1 and saw the updated date as well, but I forgot the URL, the name was something like highlife or highlive :S

Solaris, do you mean tower 1 will be finished by summer 2012? The sales material states that it will be finished by late 2011, but I don't expect it to be finished by mid 2012.

It was in late 2008, at that time they were doing promotion with $5k cash off at signing. But I heard that later on they did $15k off at closing instead. It was just a promotion, no negotiation involved.

I only got $5k cash off, nothing else. But ek12 got a free locker, so I think it is possible for you to get the same deal. Extra parking space.....probably not since you already have one that comes with your unit.

You are right. These towers are indeed rental replacements of existing ones. Emerald City tower 1 construction haven't started yet.

I guess they try to match the colour of the existing towers. The texture of the precast bricks are much better and smoother than existing ones. It seems like the precast bricks are "hanged" on the tiny hooks on the concrete wall.
