Is there a possibility for extending the Mississauga Transitway over to Black Creek? The BRT would be cheaper than having on-street LRT there and if built to the Transitway standard, would actually provide quicker service to the airport than the on-street LRT would have.

I think the plan is for a connection at the Black Creek Station, I'm guessing this station will be a bit more west of Black Creek in order for this to happen/

It's essentially a subway. The Eglinton Subway. If the Sheppard line funding gets in place to be built by 2019, this may be the most subway construction going on in a decade in Toronto history.

I seriously don't get Toronto's aversion to elevated rail. We have cities like Hong Kong, Miami, Vancouver building their transit above ground - it's cheaper, it doesn't look too bad if proper design is involved, and it's rapid transit.

I don't see how council is going to oppose upgrading Sheppard to a subway line (which was always the plan before Miller scrapped it) while the Eglinton and Scarborough line stays the same. The only thing that is yet to be seen is what will happen to Finch.

The Transit Planned Revealed? Here is a Toronto Star article that is a bit more detailed. So it looks like Sheppard will continue as a subway, Eglinton will continue as an underground LRT line with the surface route still in question, and I would put money the RT is still up in the air.

Not quite sure how the financial arrangements will work, but essentially the city is taking on a liability to pay for the subway line. So Toronto will be taking on debt to put extra money on top of the province's contribution into the new transit plan. Interesting... When will the plan be out...
