Gallery Loft Towns (Beverley & Cecil, Ideas Development, 4s, DTAH)

Very underwhelming indeed. Already looks very dated, like a school from the 70's/80's. The drab muddy material and colour palatte is mostly to blame. The dark brown siding and yellow/beige stucco is such a letdown. Looks very cheap considering these townhouses were selling for a lot of money.

What to look for when considering re-sale value?

Ceiling height is definitely a good resale value. I would consider 9 feet the minimum (I am still surprised to hear some new condos with 8 feet ceilings), and stippled or popcorn ceilings are turn offs as it looks dated and a sign that the developer is cutting corners in new construction. Most...

Top five signs of a bad real estate agent

In terms of selling agents, just take a good look at their listings or go to their open house. I am appalled with so many agents who are either completely ignorant or lack any marketing or business skills to properly sell a place. Some of the things I have noticed: - Lack of photos or...

INDX Condos (Lifetime Developments & CentreCourt Developments) - Real Estate -

I really like this building too. You're close enough to Yonge Street without being on Yonge Street. Buying to live in and not to invest in, in any precon condo these days is very wise. Unfortunately, all of the highrises being sold right now are designed and targeted towards investors, and...

    Toronto Massey Tower Condos | 206.95m | 60s | MOD Developments | Hariri Pontarini

I feel the same way too. The building looks nice, but the area is very touristy and kind of trashy.

how is the bridge being lifted into place?

    Toronto Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Toronto | 203.9m | 52s | Lifetime | a—A

wow, that photo looks depressing. No people, no cars, gloomy weather -- just waiting for the zombies to show up.

    Toronto Bathurst College Centre | ?m | 4s | RioCan | Turner Fleischer

and Turner Fleischer as well. Looks like it should belong at the Vaughan Mills factory outlet mall. This is not properly scaled for pedestrians and would be miserable driving by it. It doesn't suit the urban context at all.

    Toronto Forward Condos at Concord CityPlace | 94.48m | 30s | Concord Adex | P + S / IBI

Relocating Amsterdam Brewery to one of the large corner retail spaces at Parade 1 or 2 would be a big boom for the area. I could imagine a patio there, enjoying a brew and admiring the sky bridge above on a nice day. Outdoor films in the park across the street would be awesome.

    1 floor missing between 20th - 23rd floors

I'm not aware of 22 being a superstitious number in any culture. It could be a design in the building that cause the elevator to skip that floor (2-storey units on level 21, mechanical level, etc.). Some condos are putting their mechanical floor half way up the building so that it is more...

    Toronto 500 Wellington West | ?m | 10s | Freed | Core Architects

This is one of my dream condos I would love to live in. It's beautifully built. True boutique condos in the heart of the downtown are becoming very rare, which is very unfortunate. Blame it on the investor-driven economy.

    Toronto Monde | 149.95m | 44s | Great Gulf | Moshe Safdie

Monde's pricing is way too high for the area. The neighborhood is very underdeveloped. The properties to the south and west will block water and city views.

    Toronto Massey Tower Condos | 206.95m | 60s | MOD Developments | Hariri Pontarini

No, I believe 1 King West has a car elevator similar to the ones at Glas and Trump Tower. There are a number of condos on the boards in the ED that will have a fully automated parking system. These systems are not uncommon in Asia and Europe and have been used for 30 years. I'm sure these...

    Toronto King Blue by Greenland | 155.75m | 48s | Greenland | Arcadis

Geez, this design took a 180. It looks like a pair of North York office towers from the early 90's. Time to get a new architect.

    Toronto Massey Tower Condos | 206.95m | 60s | MOD Developments | Hariri Pontarini

I personally not a fan of Yonge Street, particularly this stretch. As much as I love city life I find it a little too congested and chaotic and still feels a bit trashy, but that is just me. I'm sure there are a lot of people who like being in the thick of things. I love how absurd some of...

    Toronto Massey Tower Condos | 206.95m | 60s | MOD Developments | Hariri Pontarini

Enter the 2Pac suite! Toronto is generally a very safe city. Shootings will happen in any urban area and Yonge Street happens to be a very busy thoroughfare.

    Toronto King Blue by Greenland | 155.75m | 48s | Greenland | Arcadis

My thoughts exactly. The Downtown Markham development by Remington could have been such an interesting development if it wasn't for the generic design and lack lustre quality.

    Toronto Abacus Lofts | ?m | 8s | DAZ | BDP Quadrangle

I love the exterior of the building, however the floorplans are very disappointing. Most of the units have interior bedrooms, poor kitchen layouts and little or no balcony space.

    Toronto 170 Spadina | 46.94m | 12s | Plaza | BDP Quadrangle

a very uninspiring and boring design. the building is the same on all four sides.

    Toronto Brant Park | 35.36m | 11s | Lamb Dev Corp | a—A

I think those renderings are purely conceptual. A mechanical penthouse and parapets are missing. In real life they will never look like that.
