Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

This is a question. Why when you stare at a negative you see a positive? I thought this was a facebook joke but gave it a shot and it worked. Stare at the red dot on the girl's nose for 30 seconds then look at the ceiling and blink. Sorry if this is the wrong spot for this Mustapha , I just...

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

I figured out that this photo was taken from the rooftop of the Park Hyatt at Avenue Rd. and Bloor. Thanks again Hawc. I borrowed a few off the internet but they don't do it justice. If anybody gets a chance please go there and do this shot right. Looking South from Bloor and University. Note...

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

Thank you for this group of photo's. There doesn't seem to be a lot of color shots from this era so when they show up I am always impressed to see them. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

    Street photos 194o's to 1980's

It was a strange time Long Island Mike , not that I cared about fashion -see above picture. I went from Pink Floyd to punk , dicso , new wave , hair metal , grunge then my daughter came around and all I was aloud to listen to was Barney and Disney songs.

    Outdoor Christmas Displays

I am always curious when I drive around Toronto to see the best Christmas display's that people set up in front of their houses/apartments/business. Its rare to find one that looks just right. I would like to see what everybody else can add with addresses if possible. If its not quite right...

    Street photos 194o's to 1980's

The gentleman on the left still has a 2 foot beard and hair halfway down his back , pure white I might add. The boy is now 42 , my sister is the best sister in the world and I am balder then a new born's butt with hair growing everywhere but my head.

    Street photos 194o's to 1980's

The leisure suit has become famous in our family. I wore it for 25 minutes during the ceremony , never to see the light of day again. When you were a 19 year old rocker in 1976 it wasn't cool to wear anything but skin tight bell bottoms , white tiger brand t-shirts and Greb Kodiaks. Little did I...

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

Good to see you always carry you camera with you Mustapha. On the Simpson's subject , a while back I did my usual overkill with Then/Now's on my walk down Yonge Street. One of the photo's I couldn't match up but I think it is the north/west corner of Yonge and Queen. Reflecting in the mirror you...

    Scarborough Photographs: Then and Now

No particular reason , just liked the look of the perfect gas station with the great service. Can you get this kind of treatment anymore? Kennedy and Sheppard , courtesy Toronto Archives.

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

I love the subdivision that looks like aztec hieroglyphics. This section was what we called war houses , looks the same as an area around Keele and Sheppard.
