Ultra High Rise? Like jeans from the 90’s? So many things can go wrong indeed… 😊

Eight days (floor and walls), who knew they had it in them? Edit: vinny_the_hack did. Props!

It's rare that we get shots of a building from above like this, we're quite fortunate. That being said, it's your belief that has more rebar in the floor than you'd see in an average residential building? That would be (one of the reasons) why this one is slower than others?

We shall see, they haven’t done it yet. 12 days to pour a floor and walls is the quickest at this point. Shaving five days off that seems aspirational at best…

The last three floors since they’ve gotten the climbing core in place have been 2 weeks (12-17 days) for slab and walls. Hopefully the first mechanical levels should be complete by Halloween…

And why are you here LoMein? Just to disparage the fans of architecture? We may not have an interest in the financial and political side of development, it doesn’t mean we lack the knowledge to understand it, but that’s not why we’re here.

Looks like a real high rise construction site now with the first ties between crane and building…

Andaz, a Hyatt brand. Mizrahi posted a video of a fly thru of the lobby recently (pg. 857).

Please explain how higher winds slow down a project? There are many examples of 300m buildings that seem to keep pace just fine through topping out, which will be more like the end of 2024 for this building.

Fourteen by my count, with the "ceiling" of the first floor tenant counting as the third level...

Yup, unless the hotel doesn't open until the residences, which I guess is a possibility, but several years away.

It's possible the core lifts will only be used when they get above the hotel levels. Thinking they'll want to finish out the retail and hotel levels while they build the residences? So you have (the existing) exterior lift that goes up to the pool level deck, then another one up to the beginning...

You are correct, the corners are supported by the corner column and the floor beneath them, with load going down to floor where the hangers are attached. That floor is supported by the hanger and doesn't need a corner column underneath. Cool to see it all coming together.

Once the platforms around the super columns move up again they should be able to install the next set of hangers.

Odds that we see walls and a slab poured in the same week do not seem impossible. I would have never guessed.

I don't think this will ever average faster than 1 week for a floor slab, one week for walls. Regardless, it's cool to see the current progress. Around the end of September they should be close to the first mechanical levels, and the next set of hangers on the corners should be in place.

There was a time (back in April) when it was taking them 2-3 weeks to pour a slab and the walls for a level. That was the ninth floor, and I thought for sure we'd be to the first mechanical level by now. Speed will never apply to this project...

Let’s hope not. That would make it all moot. 😉
