Maybe they don't, and maybe there is no need to share more or even appetite for it, but it is still a city-owned building for civic use and they have taken some pains to stress that this is a true public-private partnership. And they also stated back in September that they would share more...

Hopefully this HUPEG/OVG team-up yields some amazing results (and it looks like it might), but communication does not seem to be their strong suit, at least to the public. I think I can sympathize with the sports teams that were upset by not knowing what was going on.

Summary: Downtown Hamilton is in trouble because of vagrancy/drugs... maybe this project can help improve things. The arena is hopefully getting a $280 million renovation that is real and starting very soon. We do not know many details about that renovation or updates to other infrastructure...

I can't speak to the 90s, but downtown Hamilton certainly looks like it has noticeably slid backwards over the past few years. Regardless, it is in a really really bad state today.

There has been really very little news surrounding the whole project recently. With the way that most of downtown Hamilton has been rapidly becoming a vagrant/druggie wasteland recently, it almost feels like the closure/move of that shelter would not make a meaningful difference.

I wonder if they will be sharing updated renderings or details of the work to be performed. Still a bit nervous about this whole thing.
