    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

So basically choosing Aecon & Alstom over SNC-Lavalin & Siemens. Absolutely no surprise really considering all of Alstoms current contractual obligations with Metrolinx after taking over Bombardier's role. In contrast with SNC and their recent scandalous history plus Siemens completely...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

That's litterally one less train every two weeks(to and from TO-MON), probably wasn't even noticed if discussed at all and especially not in the GO service thread.

I think most would agree it's better than its neighbours but still a let down to what was purposed.

    Toronto 212 King Street West | 250m | 80s | Dream Office | SHoP

Some people like smokestacks profiles, besides this city could use something, anything really for a building to differentiate itself from the masses. 1 more parking spot? Lol why even bother So much potential, yet so much mediocrity.

And so what if they do, it's actually forming into a pretty impressive skyline of its own. Heck I think today's Mississauga skyline looks more impressive than Toronto's skyline did before the current boom if you're using the airport as your vantage point. Only the CN Tower, FCP & Scotia really...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Assume equipment move, prob a lot of 'em with all the train cancelations. Just going by the website the number of cancelations in the morning and evening don't always match up for each line so they'd have to send out a train after hours to be in position for the next days rush.

Yes and the effect is quite dramatic. I'm shock builders haven't done it more often, it's much more common to see some form of continually twisting floorplates. Which to be fair is interesting too but much more common place.

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

That's funny, because phase one turned out much better than expected. I expect phases 2 & 3 will likewise also be pleasing additions to the skyline. No reason to believe the quality of the materials will suddenly decline even if the design isn't as striking as originally promised.

Honestly... 🤦‍♂️ The Ford government would probably award Union Carbide a contract for something if that were still an option.

Just how much is Apple, err... I mean some future random unknown tenant... paying for that space!?

About to surpass PSV and Park Grand in height, Absolute World next. But then how do you cope with walking down the streets of Toronto? I mean that's A LOT of vomit.

FINALLY. I think I can rest in peace now. Been waiting nearly 15 years for another building like this, the last true one in this vein being One St. Thomas. Wasn't sure if I was going to live to see the next one... and I'm only 30 years old.

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Is that so? Isn't it interesting then how there's nothing really iconic about the first tower and yet it's been referred to as the best tower on the waterfront. Aside from CIBC Square perhaps, though that's on the other side of the Gardiner.

    VIA Rail

Yup. Saddly will probably never happen as the government is more than content to continue kowtowing to lobbyists and big business in secret behind closed doors over the interests of the general public and making preparations for Canada to be competitive and continue prospering going forward into...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

It's actually a monument for parking garages they just didn't tell you that.

Naw I think the current one is most appropriate. Accurately shows how the city center is a cluster of high rises located around a mall in the middle of a vast suburbia interconnected by sprawling highways.
