GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Why not just reverse the train back to Union and let people off there? If it's clear there's been a fatality on track at the next station, the train should just go backwards to the previous one and let people off there. It's really not that complicated.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I shared this video here back when I took it in May. I don't think much has changed for the bridge since then, but shockingly the. Agincourt east platform is well over 90% done. They've been pushing to finish it. Probably time to do another drone shot to show the progress and compare from May's...

    Downtown Markham

What I want to know is when are they going to create a pedestrian path directly form Unionville GO station to Enterprise so we don't have to walk an extra 700m in the wrong direction to University Blvd and back to the underpass on Enterprise where there should be stairs to access the platforms...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I can accept that. As much as Reaper's schedule would make a difference to me now (and others in the neighbourhood), I'd rather get towards RER level service sooner because that's the real transit breakthrough for this line.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I get confused as to whether tph refers to total track capacity or directional capacity. I was referring to the total capacity, because I think that's a more accurate reflection given how they move 2 trains per hour in one direction but zero in another during peak times vs 1 train per hour in...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Maybe they'll put in a crossover north of it and keep the current bridge as a brief single track section? It seems like that might let them go from 2 tph to 4 tph. I at least would love to see them start offering counter peak service. That 4 hour gap between around 4pm and 8pm with no SB trains...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

2nd track at Agincourt is now fastened and ready for the final ballast to be added. However, it is currently a track to nowhere as it abruptly ends at the pedestrian crossing at Marilyn Ave, so even though they might be nearly finished, it is still unclear when it might actually be used...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

This would be so much better. Munro was advocating for this but if I remember correctly the city hadn't got it's act together in terms of getting the guts to remove car lanes and redo University. With us currently having 4 GO lines and 2 Subway lines (both ends of Line 1) available for people to...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Steve Munro has been talking about this for upwards of a year now. Why council just woke up to this now is beyond me.

Here's the follow video showing the progress on double tracking from Agincourt to the West Highland Creek bridge.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I meant double tracking the station. I have another video coming showing the state of the tracks at the West Highland Creek bridge.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Lots of progress at Agincourt. My guess is they will have the double tracking completed by the 28th when weekend service resumes. I decided to take the drone for a flight on Saturday and post a video instead of photos. Enjoy!

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

I like how he has trouble understanding how much parking we have at GO stations.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

This seems like a good opportunity to start building level boarding retractable platform extenders into the coaches. Any word on that?

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

The fact that they were actually making progress on a Sunday for double tracking makes the lack of weekend service a bit more tolerable on the Stouffville Line.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Some photo updates from Agincourt Station. They have removed the old track from the now NB side and are removing the old ballast and digging down to the base presumably to prepare for laying a new NB track. It can connect to the double tracked section north of the station which I believe extends...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Does anyone know why they didn't do green tracks in Finch West like they've done on Eglinton?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Not sure if this belongs here, but this is the dumbest idea. https://blog.metrolinx.com/2022/03/30/new-on-demand-transit-pilot-project-coming-to-vaughan-go-transit-customers/

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Regarding the Stouffville Grade Separations, not sure if this update has been posted here. https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2022/ex/bgrd/backgroundfile-175065.pdf So it's the City that asked for more grade separations. Havendale will be closed and a pedestrian bridge is proposed. It's...
