    Toronto 32 Camden | ?m | 12s | Sorbara | Core Architects

I guess that is the very very very VVVIP night as opposed to Lafleur's very very VVIP night on March 9th. Gotta get me an invvvite!

What day is the VVIP that you are going to?

That is pretty lazy reporting indeed. Steal from UT and then sell advertising. Nice business plan. S'Bus

    Toronto 629 King Residences (was Thompson Residences) | 53.34m | 15s | Freed | Saucier + Perrotte

Absolutely, no one is arguing that point. Its the step up in height to above the "normal" violation of 32-34m and zero setback that everyone is unhappy about. The whole plan is in shambles now and a new course must be decided upon by whomever is in charge now.

I think you are right, most of the mechanicals are within the 39.5m main roof line, but the additional 3m are for accessing the amenity area with permanent stairwells or the elevator. The spaces are likely similar to the ones on Victory Condos. Don't forget then that the as-of-rights are 28m...

    Toronto 629 King Residences (was Thompson Residences) | 53.34m | 15s | Freed | Saucier + Perrotte

Thompson Residences and 400 Wellington are not really comparable. From what I recall, the OMB decision for which 400 Wellington was granted was based on a development being an office building. When Sorbara took it over, they did indeed put 12 storeys on it, but look at the building design which...

Actually, Gristile is right here and it doesn't appear you understand the details here. There's more to the secondary plan than number of storeys and you have to look at setback as well. For example, Thompson Residences' main roof has a height of 39.5 with ZERO setback off King Street, and a...

    Toronto 400 Wellington West | 38m | 12s | Sorbara | SMV

They wont probably start drywalling until the building is entirely closed in with all windows, glazing and majority of brickwork complete. Plumbing is the priority right now with major electrical feeds next. What do you call finished on time? What did Sorbara give you as occupancy date?

    Toronto 400 Wellington West | 38m | 12s | Sorbara | SMV

My first prediction was for concrete to be complete end of March. I then revised it to end of April. At this pace, could only a maximum of another 6 weeks since there is only one main floor to go (10th) and then the 11th and 12th which are only half floors. Progress is good but remember it is...

Walked by this morning on the way to an appointment, they are close to pouring the 10th storey floor slab on the south portion and finishing the formwork for the same slab on the rest of the building. Glazing continuing, now up to 4th storey. S'Bus

Yea, walked by this morning and some of the brick is now up on the south elevation below balconies and windows - all the glazing is coming along as well. It does look good.

Sorbara's 400 Wellington Sales centre is turning into a 32 Camden sales centre. The office area will also serve as a decor centre for 400 Wellington purchasers. This has now been confirmed.

The commercial front of this building is going to look great and a contrast to the others on King Street west of Spadina. I am still wondering which resto will scoop up the spot because it will be high profile. Secondly, the "animated alleyway" to the west of the building is also starting to...

    Toronto Four Eleven King Condominiums | 149.04m | 45s | Great Gulf | KPMB

They couldn't do that without a public process and that was not done. There is nothing about this in the Staff Report either.

Mike in TO: What do you mean by •An agreement between the city & developer for more density on the site was established when LCBO was initially proposed I can't understand how any agreement of any kind could be made at that time. Regards, S'Bus

Like any other contractor, the big name on the sign is only part of the story. If they can get the construction manager from Bird to give a damn about finishes, everything should be fine. It is really about who cares and who doesn't and that comes down to people sometimes. Let's give them the...

Yes, but the developers themselves didnt have the balls to show up. They left it to poor Rudy and his LA buddy. Usually a planner or lawyer show up as well, but they may have been hiding in the background.

Absolutely, look at what the Globe&Mail lands development will be doing at the opposite gateway corner (Front/Spadina) as they have pubicly stated that this will be something special and they want it to be architecturally significant. I believe they have rights for a 50m tower where the Toyota...
