Aha. The Concourse ends roughly under track 3, the Promenade is north of that. BTW: Anybody see the pooling water at the top of the new outdoor stairwell at Bay and Front? It was not draining, though the rain had tapered off some time ago. Hope it was only a Patricia-related anomaly.

I'll go look, but I kind of thought the NW corner was by Timmy's.

Just below the Great Hall there are copious signs on the ramps up to Front Street, marked Alternate access to TTC. This route tends to be ignored, though a closure of Bay would divert crowds from the ensuing bottleneck. It will be interesting to see if large crowds -- such as fans on the way...

After seeing the flow of Jays fans tonight I guess they won't close the Bay Concourse as long as sellout games continue at Rogers. Too bottled of a neck there. Now about the moat -- is it only as wide as the ramp...?

The ramp reduces a long (and exposed, and poorly signed in parts) walk-around -- or wheel-around -- via the Bay Concourse. Too bad this temporary ramp wasn't available long ago (and unclear why not -- presumably construction access to the moat...?) and too bad the permanent accessible route...

tnarduzzi wrote on October 6th, 2015: '...closing the Bay hoarding route and forcing everyone through the "narrow stairs" route.' So it looks like all *indoor/under cover* traffic between the subway and rail stations will have this one corridor, punctuated (;-) by the now-ramped single doorway...

It appears as if a short section of the central/east moat can open soon just west of the TTC station western entrance and ramps. This would jive with the new ramp at the temporary corridor just west of the Bay Concourse, allowing the latter to close if a second ramp is coming down to the moat...

    Union Station: Northwest PATH Expansion

Um, was the great big PATH pillar in place on the NW corner of York&Front when the related stair/lift entrances were opened? It's an awesome signpost, and dastardly false advertising... Can we assume a northward connection is five plus years away ...?

Toronto Union Subway Station: Second Platform and Concourse Improvements | ?m | ?s | TTC | IBI Group

Any clue when signage will be finalized? Missing: 1. To both platforms, facing turnstiles at automatic entrance near Brookfield. 2. To Brookfield Place, on north side of (mezzanine) main entrance. 3. To University NB, inside main entrance, at escalators to Yonge NB. 4. To collectors, from east...

How many different entities are currently responsible for signage at Union? Mind, I'm not asking what should be the case -- but the actual situation.

Again, it's gonna be interesting to see how they close this accessible route without providing an immediate alternative that does not rely on the Bay Concourse. No matter how that's done, as far as I can see a lot of folks are gonna be schlepping the long way round.

The moat will help get more people *to* the TTC/PATH entrance, but the must-be-under-cover-at-all-times crowd will still be faced with just two doors that have covering from the station proper. Otherwise, down the stairs you go. By the way, if the full moat opened today are there any doorways...

Great pics of current situation, including the moat. Just a reminder, for all our conjecturing about the next phases of construction, whenever you* imagine the Bay Concourse ramp and temporary corridor closing for full renos, then imagine you are going from the subway to the VIA Concourse or...

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Signage in the construction zones needs a lot of attention. The south end of the VIA Concourse is and has been a mess, and it's not clear at all that you can get to ACC. The current signs require you to look for platform 26 or 27 then look for Union Plaza and before you exit to said plaza (or...

Yes, the posters were big, widely plastered -- though not station-domination plastered -- and is it not true that black on yellow is one of the clearest of ways to display type, cuz that's what they were. [Edit: that damned video -- actually I love it-- indicates the posters may have been more...

Thanks for the pics and update, as I can't get down there for a bit. If the corridor past the Cinnabon (expect extreme sensory disorientation without the smell) is to be kept open, that portends an imminent plan to reopen the space south of that stairwell up to the Great Hall. Protecting...
