I'm sure the boys are giving the new panels a good wipe before the platform is lowered and probably the windows too.... ...However... ...Because the platform uses the same tracks between the windows to hold the cables that support it AND those are the same channels used by the...

While this critique is premature and one must note that I have no idea what the above art will look like when finished or even if it is a permanent fixture of the entrance port-cochere... However, none of that has ever stopped me from criticizing before so... Having a stadium of people watch...

CanadianNational's preliminary renders are always a great addition. Note of caution: Whoever did the 3D mock-up of RBC for Google Earth, they either exaggerated its height or un derestimated the height of Ritz. They are not the same yet appear to be in CN's renders.

Living Shangri-La Condos (Westbank, Peterson Group) - Real Estate -

That axiom has historically been correct when referring to one district over another but as this points out... ...Toronto is in a whole new realm of what "Location" actually means.

Living Shangri-La Condos (Westbank, Peterson Group) - Real Estate -

Condos are the reverse of automombiles.... They say that if you wanted to build a car from replacement parts it would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars more than if you just bought the car new.... However, if you decided to upgrade your present unit and purchased a parking spot nearby, some...

Well, as I pointed out over at SSP, they have either changed the "Wave" pattern from the original concept, or this first row is only a test, because the size of the "wave" is much smaller than on any of the renderings or models. (Image courtesy Architect.net found here...

However... As can be clearly seen on older pictures of the taller tower... The railing was integral with the frame and the glass was installed after the fact... Regardless of the curve difficulty you mentioned. (Image courtesy Jasonzed in this thread found here...

That includes ground level above sea-level, which happens to be about ~117 meters at Bay and Yorkville, according to Google Earth... So that makes it 200 meters... But I believe the Penthouse is listed as Floor 55 (Which is not the same as the actual level counts, when you take out floors like...

Yes that is the floor... But as shown in the closeup image above... Much of that equipment is exterior of the small mechanical penthouse and does not need to be inside it. There are not too many condos that I know of that would need two full floors of mechanical up top. It's almost as if the...

But if I am not mistaken, the metal frame and railings were installed prior to the glass panels at Festival, not after. That is why I was concerned with Absolute not having the rails. Edit: Looking back through the Bell/Lightbox thread, I see I was correct. The frames and railings were integral...

I always thought glass-paneled balconies had to have a metal railing between them, by building code law... As a backup safety-barrier in case a panel shatters. If one of these break, there is nothing stopping you from tumbling over the edge.

I would still like to know what is on that full floor above the penthouse. It seems excessive for a condo to have such a large mechanical floor when there is another mechanical penthouse on the very top.

I believe we were told it will be an external crane just like Eighth Avenue Place in Calgary used (I can`t find a pic right now) as well as several other recent projects... An extreme example of this is the Shard in London. Because of its taper, the cranes were very far away from the facade by...

    Supertall and near-Supertall Rumour/Speculation Thread

As far as One Way streets go... The difference with Toronto to Montreal or New York is the timing of when the streets go One Way. The streets in Montreal or New York had already been built up to their present form (More or less) and businesses well-established before the streets went one way...

With a potential 60 floor condo at 205 Yonge and twin ~200 meter Condos at 501 Yonge, there will be a day when even One Bloor will not be seen in a photo from that vantage point above.

    Supertall and near-Supertall Rumour/Speculation Thread

I agree, but I said that once in a thread and everyone launched in and blitzed the thread with reasons why that isn't true... (I still don't believe them) I'm with you on that one. Edit: Didn't take me long to find something that backs-up my opinion...
